The Kitchen is located at Pleasant View Inn and offers two oceanfront dining experiences. So whether you are in the mood for a casual lunch or a relaxing dinner prepared by our Chef, we are here to satisfy you. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served seven
Our waiter was less than attentive to my husband and I on an evening dinner. He did his job at the bare minimum, not asking if we had any questions on the menu ( we did) or if we'd like another cocktail (again we did), he never inquired if we were enjoying our meal (we did) but the manager did. We told him our concerns and things turned around after that. He also comped our dessert. The waiter however doesn't get it and should not being that career. The manager made all the difference and turned a frustrating evening into one we enjoyed and appreciated.

The Bistro at Ocean House offers a classic American brasserie menu with an emphasis on New England flavor, featured seasonal ingredients and traditional club specialty items, including grilled meats and inspired sides.
Our afternoon included a delicious lunch in the Bistro. The Bistro offers guests dining in a casual setting with seasonally inspired dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The menu offers starters and entrees that are simply prepared and presented with emphasis on local meats and seafood. Dinner was very delicious with many choices on the menu. The wait staff were friendly, efficient and professional.Dear Loves2Research,We are pleased to read that you enjoyed the atmosphere and menu in the Bistro. Thank you for your compliments about our team and the service. On behalf of all of us, we appreciate your âfive starâ review. With warm regards, Daniel HostettlerPresident and Managing Director

Maria's Seaside Cafe has finally re-opened! Our newly designed, casually elegant cafe is more intimate than pre Hurricane Sandy with dining and horse shoe bar indoors plus al-fresco dining on our covered terrace or brick patio. We are very fortunate to ha
near the water but the food and the salads must improve in order to get more customers. It is really just a matter of getting a chef that knows how to cook.we had lobster and they were beoth not done well. It is hard to ruin a lobster but one was underdone and the other overdone. Overdone is tough, underdone was mushy, undone, and nasty. not cheap. They do have a bar,and the drinks are not bad but weak. Had valet parking which is a plus at the beach area. I still like two little fishes much better, the food is always consistant. Good.

this was such a suprise that we could not get over it even after we left it. We both had two different kinds of fish dinners which with the sides were more than we could eat. The freshness was amazing and the quality was also. We will be going back here as the service was just so nice.We do not drink but they did have a full bar and parking was no problem. We were seated quickly and we did have a glass of wine each which was really nice. My wife had a bread pudding that she said was the best she had ever had. no dessert for me. too full.A really nice place to go for dinner and I would make a special drive to go here. We are about twenty five miles away. worth it.note: add one more dot to make it six on the register if possible.

The Ocean House Verandah Raw Bar is one of the dining venues/areas at The Ocean House, in Watch Hill, RI, and one that we visited several times on our short stay in May.We arrived just before the âcrushâ of the Memorial Day weekend, and many things on-property, and in the area, were just coming to life. We watched the team setting up Verandah, and the chefs working on the dishes for the approaching Summer season. We even spent a bit of time, talking to the staff, asking about the fare at Verandah, their wine list, and the details on all that would soon be happening. Perhaps it was our interest (or maybe that The Ocean House was still a bit slow), but the staff got our names, and used those, on every visit â a very nice, and welcoming touch. Now, Verandah, as mentioned, is but one dining, drinks venue on the rather extensive property. It is on a lovely deck, with views of the Ocean, but mainly the croquet courts, down below. It wraps along one complete side of Ocean House, with plenty of covered, but still al fresco seating. We first stopped in for wine, which is not really âpermitted,â as Verandah is structured for dining only. Not sure if because they were just getting started for the Season, or because we had spent time talking to the staff about the restaurant, or maybe some other reason, that we were welcomed just for drinks? The wine list, as presented, is an abbreviation of the extensive list from Ocean House, but we found that one could order âoff list,â from the wine cellars inside. Nice to know! We returned for a cup of their New England Clam Chowder and their Spicy Corn Chowder. Both were excellent, though at $13/$14 each, might be considered small to some. In our case, we were doing a very light lunch, since we were dining later at Coast, just inside from Verandah, and exactly what we were looking for. The Spicy Corn Chowder could have used a bit more âspice,â but then we grew up in New Orleans, so our palates might just be more attuned to such? We never did get around to trying their âsignatureâ Traditional Hot Lobster Roll ($28), but then our visit had been cut short on both ends, so just too little time.On our first visit, we did the Duval LeRoy NV Champagne, in a B-T-G selection, and then the Joseph Drouhin Chassagne-Montrachet â13 White Burg, which became our âgo to wine,â almost all around the property. As this trip was for my wifeâs birthday, this wine was fitting. We had spent an earlier birthday in Burgundy (at another Relais & Château property, Abbaye de la Bussière), and Drouhin had presented her with two mixed cases (including the â08 Chassagne-Montrachet) for her birthday. As it was April, and as Summer had already come to Phoenix, where we live, shipping her wine (along with two other cases, gifted by wine makers in the region) home was not an option, the Sommelier at Abbaye de la Bussière served it for the last few days of our stay, and we shared it with the other diners in the restaurant. This was like going back to Burgundy, but I am afraid that we might well have consumed the entire allocation of the Drouhin at Ocean House?? Also, and especially with the Spicy Corn Chowder, the big Chardonnay went well. It was also good with the New England Clam Chowder. The only quibble, and this goes across all dining venues at The Ocean House, plus their âsister-property,â Weekapaug Inn, was that this wine was served much too cold. My guess is that most of the guests want, and expect such, as I know that the sommeliers on staff appreciate how such a wine presents itself, when at about âcellar temp.â We spent much of this trip, cupping our white wine glasses in our hand, warming them up, quite a bit. Isnât that why we have warm hands? On each of our visits, the staff was excellent, and service was just about perfect. Remember, they had just opened the day before, and some of the staff was quite new to the venue. They had all learned well, and quickly. When we walked past Verandah, on our last morning on-property, the hostess, and two of the servers called us by name, and asked if we would be joining them for lunch. Unfortunately not, as we needed to get up to Providence for our flight home. The beauty of the surrounding area, the Ocean, the lovely croquet lawn, and the stunning architecture of The Ocean House contributed to a wonderful setting.

Been back today for 2nd visit. $20 to park with $10 in vouchers for food and drink. Drink specials are great with a $5 beer and $7 mixed drink. The food was once again excellent: the Lobster sandwich was FULL and tasty, coleslaw was perfectly zingy, the steak sandwich was large, stuffies were very good just need a little bit of seasoning, and chicken Ceasar was large and filling. Slow service, but don't mind as we were sitting enjoying the sunshine and views of the beach. Had a drink after we ate while the boys went into the water!. Great day.

We enjoyed our meal -- our group of 5 all added the wine pairing to the 5 course tasting menu. Each course was delicious and most of the wine pairings fit well -- the Riesling was a bit sweet for one course. Wonderful preparations, and creative ingredients and presentation. Delicious. My favorite course was the olive oil poached halibut, with caviar and other savory ingredients. Lovely. Also, the white chocolate soufflé for dessert was delicious.Dear MPW47,Thank you for selecting COAST during your stay. We are delighted that you enjoyed your dining experience, including the presentation and flavors. Please know that we will share your comments with our team, including your observations about the Riesling. Warm regards, Daniel HostettlerPresident and Group Managing Director

Lovely view, had been there before, however last week I ordered the French Onion soup. Had to differentiate between ,bowl, cup, crock! Ok,when it arrived, looked ok, but Wham there was something odd! Waitress told me they add saffron, paprika and oregano! I could not eat it! She was kind enough to remove it from the bill, but I then ordered the New England clam chowder ,which was blah..Had to stop somewhere for Pizza in the way back

We were traveling with another family with kids and dined at this establishment after a fun day at the beach. We were lucky enough and found (free) parking right in front of the restaurant. You place the order and they bring out the food to you by calling out your number. There was ample seating indoors and also had a few tables outdoors. Our family had the clam chowder, fisherman's platter for two (clam strip) and 1 kids grilled cheese along with some beer, soda and apple juice for the little one. Our friends also ordered something similar. I wish we had known about the huge portions! We had so much food left over! The fisherman's platter for two was more than enough to feed four adults. The seafood was freshly fried (not too greasy or hard) and delicious. The clam chowder was flavorful. Even the grilled cheese had the perfect balance between being buttery and cheesy; it was the first time I saw my daughter finish a grilled cheese sandwich! They also provide plant based utensils, paper plates and paper straws. The cost was a little pricey, but the quality, portions, and location made it all worth it! Highly recommended.

Casual with beautiful view. All dishes well prepared, oysters super fresh. Clam Chowdah was amazing. Baked Haddock from regular menu and Lamb shank from specials are nit to be missed. Plus they make a mean Pear martini, not sweet at all but bursting with fresh pear flavors. Go at sunset for an amazing view
