Menu offers the classic choices of the Belgian kitchen , with some suggestions separately.
Service is quick, adequate
Food quality and taste too low for the prices asked. The fries were just swimming in grease.
Seating a bit hard, and not really comfortable.
In the middle there s a bar, and lots of people come here to just have a drink.
Prices are of a restaurant, where everything else is bar standard.

As a "regular diner" at this place, I could recommend a number of things:
1. king crab as a starter: always
2. try the suggestions - following season's "greetings"
3. let the Chef have the choice over what you'll drink
come back once in a month, you'll never be disappointed.

We went to this restaurant already a couple of times, last time to celebrate my birthday. This is the kond of old fashioned "style" place where the more senior people of the town come to have their sunday afternoon tea in the Brasserie, or their lunch/dinner in the restaurant. We took the "degustatiemenu", and it was really excellent. A lot of variety, "just-in time", i.e. not too long not too short between courses. There is a very long wine list, with some very fine wines, allbeit a bit expensive (for foreigners, this is probably the part where restaurant makes most profit on).

My family and I have been to this restaurant at several occasion and they always deliver top quality, honest and seasonal products in a healthy yet gastronomical way.
Menu's are very balanced and with a dedicated chef in the kitchen you always get your money's worth.

if this review wasn't only formy parents ... Torenhof is and has been since mankind's fondest memories a place of excelence and true romance. My parents have frequented "their" Torenhof (probably through the various change-up's of owners, chefs and waiters) ... since ... 1959 !!!
Since becoming a teenager (and becoming an adult), ... I have visited Torenhof on a regular basis too. Situated in front of the Tongerlo Abbey, this is a heaven of peace, rest and culinary Delight, whether you enter for a snack, a light luncheon of a romantic dinner ...
We celebrated my parents 50th anniversary in this extraordinary venue, and all I can say about every single moment I've spent here (from the occasional drink when I was 13-14 on a Saturday eve with mum and dad, to the dinners ...) ... absolute top class in service, food, drinks ... Any visitor leaving Het Torenhof disappointed ... must question why ...!

Overall dissapointing experience. Try to sell themselves as a fine dining restaurant but fail in many categories. Poor service, tables stay unattended for far too long. Poor knowledge of the dishes which ard served and very poor knowledge concerning the wine list. Not better than the average restaurant, but much mre expensive.

Friendly staff with fairly quick service make this a good venue for lunch. It's reasonably priced if you opt for the dish of the day or spaghetti. Bread and a small appetizers are brought free of charge. There are a range of other dishes that are good but take a bit longer
If the weather is OK there is a decent Seating area out back

Called here on the way back from work, had a very pleasant meal at a reasonable price. The host was very helpful with the translation from Dutch and had a general conversation about dogs and cars!

Le Bon Vivant offer you a classic though suprising very good meal. It's in an informal farmhouse style, nice with or without your family. Informal & very friendly serivce accompanied with the same style cooking.

This is a special restaurant for me. I have been here several times during winter, summer, spring.....and it is always a pleasure to be in this beautiful restaurant with a lovely garden and a superb Terrace....Mario is the chef and he makes everything from the bread to the little sweets which are served together with the coffee or tea at the end of the meal. Food is delicious and served by friendly Annick, Mario's wife. Other people working in the restaurant are all very friendly and dedicated. Really excellent place!!
