First of all We were very disappointed as they didn't have almost no veggie option in the menu. Second my husband ordered a spaghetti with red source and instead of making it, they took the red source from the a meat souce they had ready and it obviously came with pieces of meat inside. We had to give it back. I ordered a bean soup that was unfrozed and it tasted like nothing and wasn't even warm enough. We both ended up eating the bread that they nicely heated up for us with the Greek salad. That's what saved us from starving.

The restaurant-tavern-cafe GRAND CHALET is located right opposite the Great Cave. In GRAND CHALET, you can taste traditional Greek cuisine (wild boar, lamb with oil and oregano, rooster with Greek traditional pasta, soups and special grilled trout) or to
We were walking the E4 trail from Dhiakofto along the beautiful Vouraikos Gorge and at the tiny hamlet of Zakhlorou, had already decided to leave the trail and climb up to the Grand Chalet for an overnight stay. The Restaurant is set in a marvellous position high above the gorge on a prominent outcrop and has a few bookable rooms. The views from the covered terrace dining tables and outside terraces are truly outstanding and after a days walking it was great to just enjoy a cold beer whilst taking in the ambiance of the place. The Grand Chalet is rightly proud of its Greek cuisine and offers an extensive menu (and wine list) and therefore our evening meal was extremely enjoyable. After a comfortable night in a lovely room they prepared a tasty cooked breakfast for us. Kal (who also had previously helped us book a room) was available to help during the afternoon/evening, talking in very good English for us and even provided a local wine tasting session! Thankyou to all at the Grand Chalet for making our short stay with you a memorable time.

Traditional Greek Taverna with all kinds of meat
Our driver brought us here to eat lunch while we toured Kalavryta. Although the menu was in English, he helped order for us. The food was amazing. So amazing that a group of old Greek women, eyed our food and gave it there approval by ordering some of the same things. We ate outside and it was simply lovely.

Adequate food, without anything to remember, below abergae wine and very bad service. A clean place, well designed inside, but it's run by people that don't know anything about hospitality. On easter day, which is a great traditional celebration holiday with music, dancing and a spit roasted lamb, we experience non on of it. Just like any other boring day.

My wife and I ate here during a regional tour of this area. Our driver was not very familiar with Kalavrita but talked to locals who recommended here.We were greeted warmly and promptly sat at a table. The ambience is quite rustic and warm...inviting. Our waiter helped us with our selection and was friendly. My wife had the pork souvlaki and I had the pork tenderloin. We also started with saginaki and another dish made of cheese and sweet potato. All of the food was delicious, especially the tenderloin. The only issue was the souvlaki was slightly dry, but good nonetheless.

We ate a number of times here, what wonderful people and such delicious home-made food. Proper Greek meals, prepared using local produce, by local people, served quickly and with great chat. We ate here for breakfast, late lunch and dinner. A superb range of food and we would highly recommend the sausage and the liver if you're looking for tasty local delicacies.Anthi and her husband are warm, welcoming hosts and nothing is ever too much trouble for them. Out of all the places we stayed during our 2 weeks in Greece, this was the one we were most sad to say goodbye too. It is also one of the main reasons we would look to come back to this area and stay some more. The views from the balcony are incredible and with a range of seating from tables to sofas and a hammock, you can wine, dine, relax and unwind.Beautiful!!

Doesn't look like much from he outside but this is a very sweet little place. The service is friendly and there is a wide selection of dishes. Nice fresh salads and very decent and mostly classic Greek dishes. I would have liked to see more non-meat options too and the house wine was not great but overall it is a good choice.

Clasic cosy taverna, food was tasty although their extensive menu selection makes you wonder if all dishes are freshly made... The wild pork steak was nothing special and the french fries were rather oily, feta cheese and 2 cooked meals we had were great. Service was fast and polite, wc well kept. For the prices we paid we were happy, so its definately good value!

Amazing food in an amazing restaurant owned by amazing, friendly, caring, lovely people. The service is excellent and the surroundings are magnificent. Having lunch and seeing the train passing by in a few yards from our table while the sounds of the river underneath make the whole scene musical was the highlight of our trip. Keep it up Antonis and Poly. Fantastic! We ll come again and we ll spread the good word out because you deserve it!

On beforehand we were a little bit disappointed in the restaurants on offer in Kalavryta. We were not into the traditional Greek restaurants this evening. We found this restaurant and saw the pictures. We hoped it would bring us something innovative and they made it happen! This restaurant gave us a really good Greek experience, with a new original twist. These people can cook and you tast they are really experienced. As Dutch people we like soup and although it is still summer they offer a nice pumpkin soup (different offer than other restaurant), they showed us a picture of the wildboar the hunted that day and we decided to choose that dish. We didn't regret. The sauce with the wildboar was made of local grapes and was so delicious! As well as the filled chicken with dried tomatoes and slices of very thin fried potatoes(also different)We were full and didn't want to order a dessert. Despite of this they gave us a small glass of Greek Grappa and a piece of chocolate cake with pink pepper(unique taste)The waiter speaks really good English which made it possible to explain us a lot of the dishes. That added something to our experience! We really recommend this place, although it is 5 minutes drive from the center of Kalavryta
