There is no more sincere love than the love for good food. The address where gastronomy and conviviality find each other.
The food was very good and with had a lot of flavours - family business with husband and wife - very nice reception and relaxed atmosphere - the menus were only in Flemish or French - The lady could not speak english but that did not put any barriers to our enjoyment of the food as the lady was very accommodating

We were greeted with mocktails and cocktails and a la carte choices for apero, very good hummus, octopus salad, brushetta, meat croquettes as snacks in between. As a Greek I can say that the hummus was Delicious!!! Then as a starter we had a choice of great carpaccio or the typical flemisch tomato with schrimps ( and a LOT of hand peeled schrimp indeed!), a main was solefish fillets, smooth like butter or Angus Beef , so tender our steaklovers were over the moon! A good âDame Blancheâ in extreme portions with the best icecream iâve had in a while! Must be home-made! And fresh hot chocolate sauce! This to be topped off with a good coffee or cappuccino or tea and high tea saucers filled with chocolate-covered strawberries or home made-mini-pastries! What a delight and a pleasure to sit outside in the sun out of the wind with a silent but ambient music in the background. Stephanie the owner is a great person and catered for our every need! Highly recommended! Also if you are more adventurous check out her 2nd project Domaine 10 - the first 50-shades hotel for couples!!

We had a birthday dinner at dâUrville on a Sunday with a group of about ten people. The restaurant was very busy. We were installed in a dining room together with two other large groups, one of at least fifteen people and another one of eight people. As a consequence, the place was already loud and only got louder and it was way too hot. Fortunately there was a garden where we could catch some fresh air from time to time. We were offered a choice between two three course set menus, one with fish and one with meat: a Spanish ham or salmon starter, and a veal thymus or hake main. The food was nice enough, but the surroundings spoiled the pleasure. Service was rather unprofessional and slow. The appetizers were served without a word of explanation as to their content, which was a problem for people with food allergies because they couldnât eat any to be on the safe side. Our mains were served an hour and a half after the starters. As we were a family group, we had no problem keeping busy in the meantime, but it meant we had to endure the noise for a long time. The good point is that the three course menus with an aperitif, wine, water and coffee included were very reasonably priced.

Restaurant Puur Genieten in the Flemish town of Torhout (about 20 km from Bruges) is very easy to find because it is situated almost opposite the Saint Rembert hospital (Sint Rembertziekenhuis ). We had lunch here on a Saturday, when the restaurant is only open upon reservation, with a company of seven people and were the only customers. Four of us chose the set three course menu, which was excellent. The starter was a surprising deer carpaccio, which was more refined than the traditional beef carpaccio. The main course was pheasant with a mushroom risotto and a bouquet of vegetables. Deserts included an excellent soft lemon meringue, a nice crème brûlée (burnt cream) and a moelleux au chocolat (chocolate lava cake). A la carte, we tried lamb crown, sole, scampi and scallops. The lamb was tender and cooked to perfection, the fish was fresh and well-cooked. Not only did the food taste nice, it also smelled divinely. The coordination of the different orders was absolutely perfect. The young chef came to check on us to see if everything was to our liking. Service was friendly, but the waitress seemed a bit stressed at times. Maybe it was because it was Saturday or because, in a large group of family and friends some people might not immediately be aware that they have been asked a question by the waitress. All in all, this meal at Puur Genieten was a very pleasant experience, well worth a detour.

Overall a lot of fish & limited Menu, which is a bit of a stress if you don't like what they serve that week. I must say it looked amazing but to my taste VERY salty, to the point where I decided not to go back again.

Excellent restaurant. Very friendly and polite peolpe who run the place. Everything is fresh and made when you order it. Fishsoup is outstanding with toast, bread and rouille. Baked fish was delicious with homemade tartare sauce. Good price-quality. Will come back to try the shrimp croquettes, vol-au-vent and beef stew.Beste,Bedankt voor deze mooie beoordeling,We hopen u snel terug te mogen verwelkomen.
