We visit the Mikke already for years and years and also my family does. And it keeps on being satisfying and qualitative honest food. The place is not really cozy but during the years you become used to it and gives you comfort of nothing has changed so also not the food and the way food is served. Very friendly waiters, always the same which adds up to the fact that they don't change a winning formula. You cannot make reservations here so sometimes you need to wait a bit. I always switch between the steak en scampi's, which are great! For starter the soup, shrimp croquettes or shrimp salad, very simple but very good.. nothing more needed!

We went here on a Saturdayevening.The staff was friendly and welcoming.What I noticed immediately is that the restaurant is in an old pub setting.You can still see the bar, the lay-out in general is that of a typical caffee.The floor is horrible. Why can't they put a new one in or a wooden floor?Would make it much more cosy?The menu was OK. To be in a coastal village VERY SMALL selection of fish: just one. Take it or leave it.Anyhow I went for the steak and my wife for a vegetarian lasagna.My steak was very good and baked to my liking. Clearly comes from a good butcher.My wife's lasagna was delicious as well.My kids both had pork ribs. They enjoyed them a lot.So overall the experinece was OK. They can cook here.But I missed something, it was all too common for me to justify the price they charge.I would have expected more for that money...

Very nice place to relax when you have walked in the dunes and on the beach on a windy day in winter. We visited in mid-January when temperatures were around 5 degrees C.

What a great experience. The restaurant and the butcher shop is an experience Parc for food lovers. The best quality, prepared according to the rules of the craftsman, family Dierendonck.We were welcomed in a very relaxed atmosphere. A small assortment of Starters to share, I like small choices in restaurants, this is often the proof that they work with fresh ingredients. The cote á lâos was superb. Probably the best meat I have ever eaten.Not cheap but fair value for your money. I will return. I appreciate this concept very much.

Warm Welcome despite no reservation.Grill with flames. Quick service, good local beer (we tried amber and white, both are good, our preference went to the white on tap). White sausage shared as a starter was good. The pepper streak was fantastic with good fries. Tiramisu a bit surprising (go for the meat not for the dessert).Good time and feeling home. Recommended

Not arriving in Calais until 2030hrs we headed for Veurne and some fast food due to the hour, however passing Valentino I referenced TA and the two latest writers thought this place good and how right they were; the idea of a burger was forgotten as we sat down to wonderful fillet steaks. The welcome was warm, service good and albeit late not rushed. All 4 of us loved it and arrived in Brugge much the better for the stop.

Dieter and his crew offer menu and the card at normal prices in a container construction out of the city of Veurne. It's a special accomodation, and service and food is gentle and fine. We had on 07/01 both the daily soup, "the filet américain house" and drinks. Belgian fries. No dessert. (37,50 â¬). I went back on 24/01 alone and had the daily soup and the steak-béarnaise and Belgian Fries, with a cola. All very good, quickly but fresh served. (20,10 â¬). We'll return.

We learned to know this restaurant thanks to the "bongobon" we received. It is a perfect entry to getting to know the restaurant. It is a steak restaurant which focuses on quality meat. And quality has a price but it remains very reasonable.The quality is there indeed and the meat is really delicious.Also the house wine is very good and in my point of view the house wine says a lot of the quality of the restaurant. Also on this point the restaurant provides a very good standard. (Probably because a wine shop is part of the restaurant and so knowledge and quality is present).Service is perfect with a humouristic taste of the owner and the location is very rustic and in the city centre of Furnes.A place we will certainly return to when we want high quality steak.Apart of sundays when the restaurant opens at noon, the restaurant is only open in the evening, which might make reservation a bit difficult during the day. But in our case we were called back and reservation was easy.
