In 2014 AbCa's Creek Lodge was built in a beautiful area in the inlands of the Gambia. The lodge is a nice place to stay for tourists who would like to experience the traditional way of living and also see the amazing nature of the inlands. During your visit you can stay the night and take part of different activities and excursions. It is also possible to visit us without staying the night.
Visited as a family of 5 (2 adults, 3 children) as part of an organised tour. They gave us 2 rooms next to each other which worked great. Was a great location and good food. A highlight was cycling on their bikes in the evening 1 though you need to have kids who are confident cycling the different bikes available! They also did various boat trips.

One of the ONLY eco-lodges directly on the beach, in Gambia. The ONLY eco-lodge you can watch the sunset over the Atlantic from your room or in the restaurant. Private, surrounded by forest, excellent food & drinks, clean, comfortable & artistic. Read our reviews! Swim, go bird watching, drumming & explore African life in a super-safe location on the 'smiling coast' of Gambia. Sleep to the sound of the surf. Part of your payment goes directly to community assistance & saving local sea turtles. Even more reason to book!
This was our second visit to Nemasu, and hopefully not our last. This place is so relaxed. The food in the restaurant is very good and the drinks are cold (expect ofcourse for the lovely mint and lemongrass tea)! The beach is very nice and quiet: no bumsters. During our stay we cycled to the reptile farm which is only 3 km from Nemasu. We also did the cooking class with Ayse on a compound in the village. Great experience! She does some great massages as well. Again we stayed in one of the roundhouses (very nice, clean and quite spacious), but the new houses with beachview also looked like great accommodation. The biggest plus of Nemasu was again the staff! They are so friendly, helpful and lots of fun!

Allways nice and very friendly people. A great lodge and the best place to start your Gambian Holiday. You can go visit many many Gambian places from there. Sure: you need transport (taxi?, those are great). If you like adventure and want to have great people around you, .... Go there.

The eco lodge is built on stilts within the water and intergrated into the wonderful mangrove forests on then banks of the Bintang Bolong, the largest tributary of the river Gambia.
We stayed here for 2 nights Facilities were basic so one has to adjust expectations The shower head didn’t work but they provided bucket. Water supply and electricity were intermittent but we were ok given this place is quite remote and we understand the challenges in getting such supplies here and the price charged for the 2 days stay here. There is lots to explore for the adventurous eg kayak, we had our own stand up paddle boards and fat bicycles Else there’s also kayak for rental, fishing, boat rides, village visits. Food was good - we chose fish, oysters for the 2 day stay. It was nice sitting in front of room admiring sunset Points to consider 1. Bring your own wines /alcohol , nuts for aperitif, fruits as they have almost none or v limited supplies. 2. Ample bug spray - being in midst of mangroves meant there were abundant bugs - I had a lot of bites but that’s part of being among nature, nothing to do with the lodge

Sandele is an award winning ecolodge located on a stunning deserted beach in Southern Gambia. We offer accommodation in luxury lodges, nestled in the bush a hundred metres from the beach. The Retreat is operated in conjunction with the local community of Kartong, who benefit from the development and running of the resort and who will assume complete responsibility in twenty-five years time.
Sandele is a beautiful place, full of good energy and smiling and happy people to share moments with others. Thanks for everything, Sandele, Kartong, Gambia... Sandele is perfect to stay calm and take energy. ABARAKA BAKE

Bendula Bed & Breakfast offers accomodation in Gambia, off the beaten track of hectic tourist scene. Consisting of 5 African style huts we can house up to 10 people. There is tranquility & the best nature has to offer.
Bendula is a the best experience if you want to meet the real African life. Bendula is owned by the German lady Renate Thomas. She has lived there for more than 15 years. The place is run by local people, Mamadou, his wife Mariama. Plenty children around to make breakfast very joyful. Singing, drumming, dancing around campfire in the evening. The huts are clean. Two family huts are added now, ideal for family with children. You can cook in the kitchen if you like, or order food made by Mariama. Bendula has 5 huts, located in a small forest in the village of Tujereng. Waking up by the birds' singing is a lust to the ear. The beach is a 15 minutes' walk.Tujereng is 30 minutes from the tourist Senegambia area. Easy reached by local bushtaxi (very cheap). Airport transport can be arranged by Renate, I would highly reccommend this. If you want the off the beaten track African experience: Bendula is the best place to stay. Don't expect 5 stars luxury, but who would want that? it is the real experience with nature and local people that makes your holiday unforgettable. I have come back to Bendula already 7 times!

We are two Spanishh friends, personally is my 6th time in Gambia, we invite some friends to spend the day with us at the beach and have lunch! Everything was nice till everyone got sick with salmonellosis (even our gambian frieds), who cost many trips to the hospital and spoil the rest of our holidays!!! In fact is the first time i get sick in gambia, and usually I go to local restaurant and food in the street! I will never comeback for sure!! And we paid 4.000D, with this price the minim is food in a good condition.

Picca Laa is set by the riverside next to The Gambia Bird Reserve and 10 minutes walk from the beach in a quiet and peaceful location. All rooms are en-suite and are available as 3 bed, 2 bed and single bedroom units. Electricity is by solar power
Picked up from the airport with a smile and handed a much need cold bottle of water. The ride to the lodge was a little bumpy through Tangi but the location more than made up for the few bumps on the ride. The lodges are clean, fresh and all en-suite, the windows and doors have mosi-screens so no need for nets over the bed. Best of all is breakfast at the "Birder's Bar" at the side of the stream and just opposite the bird reserve, you sit and eat whilst watching King Fishers and other birds catch their breakfast. Even the butterflies pass through whilst yo sit sipping tea and coffee. ..... Just a family run eco-lodge, warm and friendly staff and just a great place to relax. the

Tranquil Star proved to be the best choice yet. Having travelled around Gambia staying in various guest houses, this was by far the best. My room was immaculately clean and was nicer and with more facilities than I would have expected or asked for. The bed gave me the best nights sleep yet, with quality linen and an exquisite sumptuous mattress. The en-suite bathroom was perfect and the personalised local and natural skin care products helped make me feel pampered and special. I was also able to buy some gift baskets as to take home with me. The house is beautifully decorated with fantastic artwork wherever I looked and I was really made to feel at home. The owners made me feel welcome and couldn't do enough for me. Travelling in the region as a vegan is not without challenges but here at TS I was served really healthy and delicious vegan meals. Would I return? You bet, I intend to stay there whenever I have the opportunity to return to the Gambia!
Kuba Lodge is a bed & breakfast lodge. It has 5 Double Rooms all with en-suite shower rooms. A restaurant and bar and beautiful grounds set in the tranquillity of nature, just 5 minutes from the beach.
