Discover Restaurants offering the best African food in Brufut, West Coast Division, Gambia. Brufut, The Gambia is a town located in the Western Division of the Gambia. The town of Brufut is situated a couple of kilometres inland from the coastal road, but the name Brufut is applied to an area extending from around the town, out to the coast. It has a main street with a market, and some government offices, it is reached via a 'red' sandy unmade road from the coastal road, from Brusabi on one side to Ghana Town on the other side. The area is a fast developing location because of its highly developed infra structure. It is easy to reach from the capital, Banjul, the economic centre, Serrekunda, and the tourist area of the Sennegambia Strip by the AU Coastal Highway from the turntable in Brusabi going towards Tanjii and situated on a slight hill giving direct views to the unspoiled sandy beaches and the Atlantic Ocean.

This is a little piece of heaven - lovely relaxed bar right on the beach away from the madding crowd. Fish is cooked straight from the sea upon request on the barbeque and cool beers and soft drinks available. The ultimate place to chill out.
I had a lot of laughs at this bar with Bob Marley and His friends! We spoke about the world and life and played the bongo drums. They showed me a good time like true gentlemen.
We walked here along the beach from Bijilo, having read about the place online. Handy location right by the monkey park, comfy sunbeds, lovely sea breeze, great spot to spend the day, which a lot of people staying in hotels in Kiloli and Senegambia do, as the beaches there are not so good.
Set in a stunning tropical garden in the village of Brufut. Eat overlooking the beautiful pool. There are several areas to sit in different parts of the garde. The main Restaurant is set in an architecturally unique building. The food is delicious, the am
The best way to see if the food is good at a restaurant is to start with a simple burger and if it tastes good and is cooked well you know the chef is good.I tried several meals on the menu and they were all great, I cannot cook but I can eat and I know the difference between good and normal.Try this place even if you are not staying there they may let you in to eat.Well worth it.

Macdomoro is a fusion between Sweden and Gambia, being run and owned by a gambian swedish couple. The swedish influence is mainly visible in good and quite fast service. All the rest is gambian. Nice food, good atmosphere, and when the local music groups start playing, both tourist and locals are filling the dance floor that is not really there. A good place for a night out, either you like to drink, eat or dance.
We went to Joyehto's Beach two times for lunch and a beer. This beachside restaurant/bar is located just below the Ocean Villa Heights hotel. The location is excellent and the beer is not expensive. The reason for the "average" rating is that on our second visit after we had ordered the fish curry (just before noon) they came back to tell us that we would have to wait a while as the kitchen was being cleaned. We were updated 30 minutes later to tell us that it would be another hour because the fish was frozen in a block and would take that long to defrost. Given the prices we were not surprised that the food is frozen (as opposed to fresh), but to not have fish available at the lunch hour was just not good planning or service. So do go for the view, and the beer and maybe a snack, but maybe not the food.

First of I want to day that I'm sad writing this review as there have been huge changes in this area due to the closure of the Atlantic hotel just down the road which had a big impact on our time at the restaurant. Despite being in full tourist season there was nobody there, and obviously hadn't been for some time. We ordered 2 meals, a yassa and a BBQ chicken sandwich. Both meals were poor, the meat and sauce was identical in both so no difference in the yassa and afra flavours. It took about an hour to be served, I think they went out to get the food brought in, the beer was warm and the menu options limited, they only had 10%of the menu available. The guy who served us was great and explained they couldn't keep all the food with no customers which was understandable. I really hope that things pick up for them when the Atlantic reopens add the guide book review and others on this site have obviously had a very different experience.

Livening up Kotu, this is a great outdoor spot to enjoy genuine Gambian food. The menu includes dishes from the Woloff, Mandinka, Fula, Serreh and Aku tribes. Our special Sunday buffet includes interesting dishes not normally found in restaurants. The Jol
Practically all dishes here look the same; half a plate of white rice coupled with some brownish stew. The nearby Kombo Beach Hotel restaurant offers a more varied selection and does a much better job, at virtually the same prices. A pity, given the the placeâs simple, quaint charm and friendly service.

Visited as part of a day tour. Very informative guide who spoke knowledgable about a few things including how oyster shells were used to cement and the 2 different types of cement quality. We then took a boat ride to the mangroves which was nice and stopped at a river bank where we could get out and walk as the water was only up to out claves. Brace yourself if you have to go to the loo, it was a little outhouse toilet - donât touch anything and youâll survive. Didn't eat here.
