Had food once at this restaurant more out of necessity than for fancy. Ambience was nothing to speak of, average. Prices were decent and that was the only plus point about it because the food itself was tasteless.

While staying at Ichapur we used to often travel across the river to purchase the unique Jalbhara sandesh. Though there are many other items it is difficult to pay attention to the others when you have the heavenly sweet of the erstwhile zamindars. One should not forget to delve into the history of this sweet which has gone beyond the borders of India.

One of the best places to visit for Biryani and Mutton Chaap. A very traditional and old restaurant in Kolkata. They have their main restaurant in Chitpur. The new one has opened opposite Quest Mall. Wonderful service and the best Chaap I think you get in Kolkata. Order the special Biryani with two pieces of Mutton, and I promise you you won't miss the egg in the Biryani!
