Although this place is only open Tuesday through Friday from 10 until 2, it is well worth making a special trip for their delicious food! Daily specials and homemade soups in addition to their menu of sandwiches and salads are sure to please. Their cookies are awesome, too!!

Expect disorganization in the mornings when you try to go in for coffee. If you are in a hurry, go early. The staff is very friendly but the management should take some time to look at getting things more efficiently run in the mornings so people aren't standing in line for long periods and the staff is not as frustrated. Coffee is good, donuts are good, of course!!!

The Duke House is a fine dining restaurant, tea room and bakery housed in a beautifully restored 1850's Greek Revival home in Wellsville, NY. We offer luncheon, formal tea service in the afternoon and dinner in the evening, with the well known Chef Ruben Santiago in charge in our kitchen. We offer freshly baked scones, cakes, cookies and pastries in our bakery, everything made from scratch on our premises. We can make custom cakes for any occasion and are available for private parties and catering. Our tea shop offers 46 kinds of loose leaf tea available dry or served hot or iced. We also served beer, wine, champagne and of course Mimosas! The Duke House has 5 beautiful and unique dining areas, including our Pergola for outdoor dining, and our Library upstairs for private parties. We are handicap accessible & our Chef can accommodate special dietary requests such as gluten free, vegetarian, vegan, dairy free, etc. We are now open 7 days a week.
First time visit and it was amazing!! Chef easily accommodated dietary restrictions (I'm vegan - others are not). We guacamole and a mushroom flatbread/pizza for dessert - both were specials for the evening and were fantastic. Truffle oil on the flatbread. Homemade tortilla chips with the guac along with a beautiful presentation. Vegan entree prepared exquisitely - cauliflower curry with a quinoa/wild rice side dish, baby potatoes, pita bread, and fruit. I took at least half home it was so filling. Others had chicken parmigiana (also special) and pork - pasta done al dente, everything cooked to perfection.
At least 4-5 dessert samples were brought out - while I didn't have any the others were impressed. All baked in-house.
Service is exceptional. Waiter - Jon, Owner - Nancy, Chef - Ruben.
Highly recommend giving this place a try... something you would find in a much more cosmopolitan area... a true gem for Allegany County and I get the impression it's underrated as a result.

I had had this sandwich once before in Buffalo, but this was truly outstanding and prepared just right. The salt did not take over the meal and the beef was excellent along with just a little holandaize sauce. I'll definitely have this again on the next trip.

I had been here for lunch but went back for dinner. I wasn't sure but ended up ordering a NY Strip which is my favorite. The salad to start was fresh and good. The steak came, first time I had one served in a bowl. Regardless, it had more fat on it than I normally see but it was cooked medium as I had ordered. The potatoes were raised a little much but overall I would order this again. The steak was very juicy and tender.

Heading out on an all day fishing adventure, we stopped to "tank up". Found a clean, old fashioned diner with friendly happy people. Struck up conversations with two other diners that offered fishing advice. The waitress was friendly, helpful and efficient. We both had large breakfasts with copious coffee and side dishes that would "stick to the ribs". We were served quickly and was hot & delicious. I was happy to select homemade bread from a long list of options with eggs & sausage gravy with biscuits. Will stop the next time in town.

Have really good pizza most every time we have ordered. The staff can be a bit rude and the building is very outdated but a good place for takeout.

Stopped in on a weekday for lunch wanted to eat healthy if possible. So I ordered the grilled chicken salad and figured to reward myself I'd get some onion rings. As opposed to fries or poppers. Turns out they top the healthy choice salad with French fries and cheese. And it was very good. As were the onion rings! Enjoyed lunch with a few bud light drafts. Not my first choice of beer unless the alternative is coors light. Almost won on quick draw. Nice place with very friendly staff. Love to do breakfast lunch or dinner here.

This ice cream shop was a welcome addition to the Wellsville restaurant scene. Only real ice cream/burger place this side of Alfred. Good stuff, selection of flavors. Burgers are just right. Minimal inside seating and basic seating outside. The only real disappointment with the place is that rather than adapt an empty store front in town they built a cheap, sparse structure that clashes with the village's efforts to keep its Main Street alive. We're glad there here , but wish they could have gone with a more historic location or look.
