Village Experience near the Weissensee - Hiking, recreation, and water fun – all of this is guaranteed by the JUFA Gitschtal countryside adventure village in Weißbriach. And that's not all! The experience begins directly at the JUFA guesthouse and invites you to discover the region. In the workshop, it's all about tinkering and crafting. If you want, you can try out the old weaving loom or bake an apple strudel. If you are interested in life in the village from the very beginning, then you are invited to learn interesting information about iron and blacksmith work in the village smithy, or you can stop by the historic Brechlhütt'n (village bathhouse).
Very nice hotel, good food and breakfast, great skiing opportunities for families included just next door. Great location and landscape, nice small petting zoo, play rooms for smaller and older kids. Wellness area with two saunas and relax.

The hotel in general The Hotel Brunnwirt is a true family-run business with 80 beds in which hospitality and a cosy atmosphere can be experienced daily. Our guest-house is situated in the health resort of Weissbriach in the Gitschtal nestling between the Gailtal and Karnisch Alps. Our house is an optimum, central starting-point for your winter holiday - 300 metres from the family ski slopes of WEISSBRIACH, 10 minutes by car from the ice-skating eldorado of Lake Weissensee (Europe's largest natural ice surface) and 15 minutes by car to the ski slopes of the Nassfeld. Lake Weissensee and Lake Presseggen/Hermagor are just a few kilometres away. The host and head chef, Gunther Sattlegger, spoils his guests with traditional Carinthian cuisine. Much of the produce used in the kitchen at the Brunnwirt comes from the hotel's own farm. The barbeque party in the Brunnwirt's kitchen goes down especially well and gives the guest a view of things behind the scenes. Rooms / accommodation in the hotel. The rooms are very spacious and pleasantly furnished. We offer you new double or triple-bed family rooms with en-suite shower or bath/WC, hairdryer, satellite TV, a cosy dining corner and a safe. All guest rooms come with separate WC and bathrooms and most of the rooms have a balcony. Each family room has 2 separate bedrooms. There is a lift in the hotel. The sauna area contains a Finnish sauna, a steam sauna, an infra-red cabin, solarium and a small gym.
A small gem of a hotel in a small gem of a skiing resort. Great food in massive portions -do NOT order half board if you want to lose weight. To stay stable, have the breakfast and the dinner and NOTHING for lunch as you ski your heart out all day ;-) In other words, this place manages to fill up even teenagers. Very friendly owners who run the place themselves, with lots of help from the older generation, and very nice staff, too. Loved the water fountain in the dining room where you can help yourself to as many pitchers of top quality alpine tap water as you want. Clean, spacious, in walking distance to the slopes/ cross- country skiing. With their own properly equipped room for overnight ski storage, if you don't use the one directly on the slopes. They have their own sauna area, and you can even step outside from there. Short walk to the bus stations, too, and the ATM, and the supermarket, and the tourism office. This place is actually feasible for people WITHOUT a car. I gathered that both English and Italian are spoken. So, if it seems a little on the expensive side: just go ahead, it's worth every penny. Hope to make a return visit next year. A tiny downside: Wifi, while free, is a bit on the slow side. But you are not there chiefly for that, I hope.

Not only we were welcomed with home made schnaps, we were made at our ease. Typical Austrian hotel with decorated ceilings, wood, warm. Large breakfast buffet and it is the moment you choose one of two options for your 4-coarse dinner. For kids always extra choice: spaghetti tomato or schitzel: very convenient. Food was delicious. If you want more, you might ask for a second plate. Very large room with apart room for children, lots of space for clothes. Beds were comfortable. Wifi everywere in the hotel. Many parking space for the car. Nassfeld ski resort is 20 minutes away by car (Millenium Express). We appreciated the family and their service, always ready for a joke! We recommend and would gladly return to Hotel Nagglerhof!

Were looking for a place for being "among us". 4 families-some with (nearly) grown up kids. Not too far (40 minutes drive) to slopes for skiing (this time there was nearly no snow in entire Austria -except slopes with ski-guns) The pansion (at the borders of the "nobody has ever heard of" WEISSBRIACH was taken over a year ago by a Dutch couple. Whatever their profession was before: they were born to host you! Friendly, and taking care of their guest in a great "way". The house was kept super clean (cleaned daily) The rooms were given with breakfast service (absolutely fair!). The house has a breakfast room in the basement- with a fireplace for the evening gatherings. All together: even if the place is "out of thr map"- its' COST/PERFORMANCE ratio is Very good.

Nothing fancy (except maybe the cafe) but everything you need. Good location in a lovely town, spacious and clean apartments. Hosts are kind and helpful. Plenty of hiking trails to discover, if you use it as a basecamp. Recommended.
