This restaurant is all about the view. When you mention Chart House to someone their first response is "They have such a gorgeous view of NYC!" If you strip away the view and "fine dining" facade, the food is really just average, especially for the price. The grouper last week was inedible. My mother ordered it sauteed and my sister in law ordered it grilled. Both came out deep fried (the piece was also microscopic for each of them). The "corrected" dishes weren't much better. We weren't charged for those dishes and the manager was very friendly. Our server during our most recent visit was friendly and attentive, although she insisted I wear plastic gloves she brought to the table for me to cut the cake (my family still hasn't stopped laughing).
Basically, this place is great for some appetizers, drinks, and/or dessert to admire the view. The dinner is decent but the quality doesn't justify the prices.

All the kinds of bagels you can dream of! We went for breakfast and had bagels to go. Tastes great and so many different varieties of filling. Haven’t had a bagel like this in my life! When we visit NYC again this is the only place I’ll go for breakfast.

Nestled in New York City's Upper West Side, Levain headquarters is a cozy neighborhood bakery where locals are greeted by name. A steady stream of loyal regulars stand side by side with tourists, eager to sample the legendary baked goods. From an inventive array of rustic breads to the world-famous six-ounce chocolate chip walnut cookie, everything is baked on-site, fresh every day from the finest natural ingredients. What doesn't sell that day goes to help feed the hungry-a mission that has been solidly in place since the beginning. The bakery was founded in 1994 by friends Connie McDonald and Pam Weekes. At the time, Connie was in banking and Pam in Fashion. The two, both competitive swimmers, trained together for the Ironman and-not surprisingly, as their tireless workouts left them feeling starved for great food- they began a passionate dialog about creating the world's greatest chocolate chip cookie. Within just a few years, Levain Bakery had become a neighborhood institution and a destination for epicurious travelers from around the world. Demand continued to grow. In 2000, to satisfy their regular clientele summering in the Hamptons, the two opened a second bakery in the village of Wainscott on Long Island's East End. And today, through their website, they now ship their world-famous cookies to happy fans around the globe.
I got the chocolate chip and walnut cookie and the dark chocolate and peanut butter cookie.
While both cookies were wonderfully warm, fresh, and gooey (and remained remarkably so even after a 20-minute walk/subway ride to our hotel), I didn't find them significantly better than other fresh-baked cookies I've eaten-- at least, not better enough to be worth the line and price.

I think there's no other CUBAN restaurant in New Jersey or even in New York that compares to Rumba Cubana !

Warm unique touches, handmade and carefully curated ceramics & comfortable service allow guests to enjoy an elevated & luxurious Alsatian-inspired fare in an approachable environment. Chef Gabriel combines his classic French training and Alsatian heritage with his love of New York City to create a comfortably luxurious experience in the heart of Midtown Manhattan. The restaurant has received the AAA 5 Diamond Award, Best New Restaurant of the Year by New York's Village Voice, 3 Stars from the NY Times & One Michelin Star, as well as being a member of Relais & Châteaux. Guests may enjoy a four-course prix-fixe or chef's tasting menu in the Main Dining Room, or rustic Alsatian-inspired dishes served a la carte in the bar and lounge.
I have frequently dined alone and never been more graciously received as here. From the reception area to the servers to the sommelier, I enjoyed my evening immensely. The delightful winks of half-timber construction and the coo-coo clock discreetly observing the room from a high perch were the only overt clues as to the Alsatian background of the restaurant. That and a couple of choucroute nods on the plates. I ordered the tasting menu with paired wines and can attest to the superb flavor and artistry of each dish. A well-deserved Michelin award.

What started as a love for cookies at a very young age developed into a search for the best darn cookie recipes on the planet...After years of perfecting each recipe, in 2012 Zachary Schmackary finally opened his first brick and mortar store and released these chewy delights to the general public. We are based in the heart of New York City, with a storefront on 45th Street and 9th Avenue. We deliver door-to-door in NYC as well as ship our goodies Nationwide. Sounds too good to be true? Come in and try for yourself, or place an order and have them shipped right to your door...The cookies speak for themselves.
We (luckily) stumbled across this amazing cookie shop (on the corner of 9th/45th) during one of our visits to NYC a few years back. They have so many cookie types to choose from & we've tried alot of them, but our favorites are Maple Bacon & Funfetti. We found out that you can order cookies on-line (at least 24 hours in advance)! We brought back 100 "Schmalls" (slightly smaller cookies by Schmackery standards, which is actually "average" size by normal standards!) - got to pick 5 flavors. They were a great gift from NYC to bring back & share with our family & friends back home!

Absolutely the best seafood restaurant we have been to and one of the best restaurants full stop. The way that seafood is handled at this restaurant is special. From the beginning to the end you meal flows effortlessly, each course better than the next. Don't forget dessert, they too are something to behold and a special finish to a special evening. A must when visiting New York.
