We recently visited Maxwells in downtown Waxhaw. We had attempted to try it multiple times before but this place is always packed so plan your visits accordingly.
The menu is classic pub with apps such as nachos, quesadilla and onion rings. There are burgers, salads and sandwiches a plenty. The salads looked large so go hungry, share or prepare to bring some home. We went with the flounder sandwich. A good piece of fish with lettuce, tomato, tarter and a pickle. Pick your side among about 10 choices. The cole slaw comes with and it tasty but in a shot glass sized container. Ask for more! The fries are think and tasty. The collard greens were good but a little too juicy.
There are about 15 craft brews on tap with plenty from NC and plenty not. Selections ranged from lighter choices to IPAs to one of my favorites, Lone Riders Sweet Josie brown ale. Selections change frequently so check your app for what’s on tap.
Service was excellent and we actually sat at the bar and had fun there (it was quicker than waiting for a table). Overall we enjoyed the experience and were glad we finally got in. Solid food, good service in a lively environment. Bottoms up!

Ice cream after reviewing a wedding location in the area for my daughter. Homemade ice cream, nice and fresh waffle cones. I had the maple bacon ice cream and my wife had the cherry vanilla. Mind had chunks of maple bacon, and her cherries seemed to be seemed to be fresh. Great location, friendly staff, and accepts debit. Easy parking, and benches out front eat from. The ambience of a small time ice cream shop with the view of town water tower!

These are beautiful and HUGE. We each got a mini-bundt cake. One was Chocolate chip and two were some sort of Raspberry. We all wanted to get the same thing, but they did not have 3 of anything we wanted (4:30 PM). ANYWAY... we did not know that there were not tables inside. We thought that they might have a few bistro type tables, but that is NOT the case... it's all to-go. We took the treats and went next door to Starbucks and sat there and enjoyed our deserts. Each mini-cake comes in it's own plastic container and we all took home about half of our treat. The total for all 3 was $16.28 with taxes. I enjoyed mine, as did my guests, but I might think twice before I spend $17 on 3 afternoon snacks. I do know that they have some smaller ones (better personal size), but I think you have to buy a minimum number of those at a time. They also sell the huge regular family size cakes.
I hope that this was helpful....
Just know that it's a to-go purchase, but they are SUPER YUMMY!

This place was recommended by the staff at Provisions, and they were not wrong. The building itself looks like a quaint home with a beautiful porch. When you walk into the building you are assailed with the aroma of fresh coffee. The inside is all wood, and seems very log cabinish, which is charming. There is local art and artifacts everywhere.
The choices at the counter are similar in number to what you might see at the larger coffee chains, but the baristas and the brands definitely have their own local flair, which is wonderfully refreshing. I went with a latte, and it was every bit as good as what you might get in a bigger chain. The scenery was much nicer, and the loft upstairs with the board games and shelves of books made this place somewhere where one could hang for quite some time.
Definitely recommend!

I'll never forget my 1st time at Stacks, I ordered a side of Bacon because it seems like no matter where you go they never give you enough! Right! Well let me tell you it was stacked up on a plate like a tower! This was the 1st time I ever took bacon home as a treat for my dog! The rest of the food is great too! The pies are amazing & the service is wonderful... only bad thing is they are only open from 6am-3pm daily! But when your that good you can have those kinda hours! They really live up to their name!

My husband and I are regular patron of Java's and usually go every week. The main reason I go here is for the amazing iced coffee. It doesn't taste cheap and processed like some other coffees (I'm looking at you, DD). They also have fresh-baked pastries (the macaroons are awesome) and delicious sandwiches (I recommend the grilled chicken pesto). The inside is nice and cozy, with a TV, tables as well as more comfortable seating near the TV, and a kids' area. You can order cakes from them as well and even apple and pumpkin pie for Thanksgiving! The best thing is they are a locally owned business, so I'm happy to spend my hard-earned money at a local establishment as opposed to feeding the deep pockets of a huge corporation.

Great coffee ☕️, you can never go wrong with strarbucks. My kids love this place so they can get their fraps.

We are from NY and don't like most Chinese food locally. A friend suggested this place. We were pleasantly surprised. Although a bit of a drive from Ballantyne it is worth it. Delicious fresh food with great service.

We tried this restaurant on the recommendation of the greeter at the Waxhaw Museum and we are glad we did! My husband had the BBQ ribs which were delicious! They were smoked and had a great BBQ sauce. I ordered the Turkey, Brie and cranberry sandwich on buttered, toasted multi-grain bread. I really wasn't sure what to expect from that combination but it was delicious!!! I highly recommend Rippingtons! We will go back. Waxhaw is a unique old SC town with antique shops, etc in original buildings. We enjoyed walking around and looking in the shops.

We love El Vallarta and patronize on a regular basis. The place is always clean, the service outstanding and of course the food is always great with an extensive menu.
Recently introduced our new neighbors from up north who were not familiar with Mexican restaurants and they were very impressed. We had a wonderful time at a large round table and were happy to hear that they would return.
