The cafe portion or L.A. Burdick Chocolate is temporarily closed for renovations but our chocolate retail is open.
For those of you who love chocolate, hot or cold, or melted or candied...this is the place for you. This quaint shop right on Brattle Street near Harvard Square is a must visit, especially during a long, dreary winter. The hot chocolate (dark, milk and white) is like drinking melted chocolate bars. You will never be the same. I used to bring my Harvard freshmen here to unwind, destress and talk about life in "the Yard". Come and visit, you won't be dissatisfied.

Il Capriccio serves a constantly changing Northern Italian menu featuring local products with an award winning Italian wine and Grappa list. Though long considered a local secret, Il Capriccio has been the number one Northern Italian restaurant in Zagat's for the past seven years. The wine list has been featured in Decanter, Sante, Wine & Spirits and Stuff. The same menu is served in the Bar. We like to serve great food and great wine in a comfortable setting.
We had a terrific dinner here recently. The service was efficient and prompt, and the dining rooms eye-appealing. The real star here, though,is the food, which was just about perfect. The duck breast and lamb chops were excellent, and the Fettuccine Carbonara was very flavorful. My only issue is the price points - everything we had was pricey, even the Fettuccine. I wouldn’t have minded THAT, but the Fettuccine portion was such that I thought it was an appetizer size. (So I filled up on the nice bread.) Nonetheless, this store has been here for decades, so it’s clear that the dining experience for all its patrons clearly outweighs the associated cost.

I walked in and the aroma immediately brought me back to Paris. The loaves of bread every where and pastries and dessert on display. I purchased 2 baguettes and 2 plain croissants. They were as close to what I had in Paris as they could have been. Unlike Paris, it was pricy (I think it was about $15.00) but the quality was second to none.

I lived in Watertown for three weeks in the fall and shopped at Sevan's Bakery several times for basics, treats, and carry-out. The prepared food section offers a huge variety of items, salads, pastries. I am mostly vegetarian and there were so many great choices. For instance, there were several eggplant dishes: rolled, stuffed, with tomatoes. I don't remember them all. Bean and grainy dishes. Stuffed savory pastries. The grocery section offered some great value wines and treats. I bough walnuts here which were the finest walnuts I've ever purchased. The service was excellent.

Went wuth 4 adults and 2 kids under the age of 4. Food was okish with the starters being slightly better than main course. Fusion food and being vegetarian and vegan friendly was tge main attraction. Restaurant was reasonably busy. Service was poor. When the bill came tgey had added 18% to the bill & yet presented the bill requesting gratuity. Not being aware of this I paid another 20% the end result being a whooping nearly 40% being tips. The underhand practice left me fuming but it was too late for me to do anything. Wont ever come here again.

We came to Sycamore for our special anniversary dinner and enjoyed ourselves very much. We started out with the Frisse Salad, which was very tasty, but could have used a tad more acid...yummy nonetheless. Our main courses consisted of the Chicken, which was very moist and tender, and the Steak Fritte, which was cooked perfectly to order! The restaurant gave us a lovely dessert wine to celebrate our anniversary. We then had Raspberry Sorbet and Beneit Balls for dessert. The noise level was a little high (but not impossible to hear each other) and the bench seating got a little uncomfortable by the end of the evening. But a great dining experience overall! Our waiter was extremely friendly and made sure everything was served timely and to order.

Lumiere is a casually elegant, upscale neighborhood bistro featuring modern-French cuisine, an extensive wine list as well as a full bar. We also offer a semi-private dining room that can comfortably accommodate up to 30 guests. We serve Lunch (Tuesday-Friday, 12Pm-2pm) and Dinner (Tuesday-Sunday). Lumiere also hosts Weekly Wine Tastings ($20) every Thursday 5:30pm - 6:30pm which includes taste of four featured wines served with specifically paired hors d'oeuvres from Chef Jordan Bailey.
While in town for a business meeting we checked Open Table for dinner reservations and come across Lumiere. After reading reviews on Trip Advisor we booked a reservation for a Friday night. From the hotel we took Lyft and easily arrived at this lovely Restraurant. We were welcomed by a friendly host and our table was available immediately. Xavier then welcomed us at the table and gave us a complete introduction to the menu which changes often as this is farm to table preparations. We decided on the chef's tasting menu with the wine pairing. Each of the offerings - bread, butternut squash soup, scallops, halibut, duck, dark chocolate mousse, and finally biscotti, were each absolutely delicious and the specialty wines were paired nicely, giving us a new experience with different grapes and liqueurs.. Xavier and the other wait staff were very knowledgeable and gave complete discriptions of the food ingredients and preparation and the rational for the wine pairings. While the cost is $$$$, the evening was extremely enjoyable and well worth the price. Thank you Xavier from welcoming us to your community and giving us a great memory of our evening with you and at Lumiere.

My wife and I dined here with faculty from Bentley University and had a very good meal that included mushroom soup, prosciutto and asparagus, tomato’s with cheese salad, pasta with tomato and veal, and a selection of sorbets. Everything was very good, fresh, and the service was considerate and attentive. A strong Waltham culinary offering!

This is one of those Blue Ribbon Classic 1940’s Diner. The menu was delicious offering several selections. Ordering the pancakes for lunch with bacon, coffee and Vermont maple syrup was superb on this cold 15-degree winter day. I Highly Recommend this restaurant and suggest you call ahead for reservations!

Ate dinner here after a theater show on 12/14/2017. The waitstaff was extremely prompt, caring and friendly. Our meals were tasty and moderately priced. We will definitely back. (The only thing which we didn’t care for was the loud noise from the bar which adjoins the dining room.)
