I was looking for "Vickies" but it is now the Bootlegger. A small place that looks to have one employee during the day and serves at least breakfast and lunch. It has a sort of impromptu feeling bar in the back room. And restrooms for which I just could not find the light. The rather laconic employee told me that I was so illegally parked with my vintage travel trailer that the local cops would soon be there. Didn't see a good option so I didn't stay long.

We have eaten here for many years and always enjoyed the excellent cuisine, and woodsy atmosphere. The woodsy atmosphere hasnât changed, but the cuisine sure has âfor the worse. I ordered the Rueben and my wife had the French Dip. When our meals arrived we couldnât believe our eyes. The food looked like something you might get at a greasy spoon. The frenchfries were tough and obviously freezer burnt. Our sandwiches looked like a ten year old made them. It was rumored the place was for sale, and Iâm not absolutely certain it sold, but it sure feels like it was sold to a cheapskate who knows nothing about the restaurant business. This place has gone downhill faster than an Olympic ski jumper. It may be a long way to the next eatery, but I would advise anyone to keep on driving.

A local hangout with an interesting bar. Great place to mingle and have a drink. We went here with a group of 7 people. I can't recommend the food. Maybe a salad. What ever you order keep it simple and don't expect more. Everyone found the meat tough. The fish and chips were edible but wouldn't order again. The portions are generous...but if the food isn't very tasty who cares how much you get. The service was excellent. If you can eat somewhere else do. They often have entertainment here. Eat first then come here for some music, a drink and fun.

We arrived with 2 little girls hungry and happy to be out of the car...we found the atmosphere inviting, the menu simple and inviting and the waitstaff friendly. The girls were pleased with their selections as were we! Fresh homemade food..including Pea Salad....
Don't believe me? Try it. All the skeptics have been made BELIEVERS! LOVE THEM! The smoked corned beef and cabbage is great! The smoked corned beef and cabbage SOUP is my favorite. Their clam chowder is delightful! Stop by for breakfast lunch or dinner. TV to watch the news or the game. Appetizers to dessert. Enjoy!

The Drift Inn is a diner style restaurant. Eight booths, four tables, and a counter to eat at. Most of the menu consists of burgers, french dip, daily sandwich, daily soup, fish and chips etc. Vary basic but good food. Prices ranged from about $8-12 with the fish being at the top end. There are pictures of famous people on the walls which helps spur on good conversation. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Pros: Convenient location, clean, good food, reasonable prices.Cons: booths are very small, emergency door had cardboard figures in front of it which seemed unusual.

We popped in for a bite to eat and thoroughly enjoyed it. Decor is rustic, but clean and not over the top. Pleasant view of garden area outside and the river, great service, and the biggest surprise of all - excellent food! The entres were in the $20 range so we got $10 sandwiches instead, which came with soup, fries or a salad (and a really tasty pickle). The soup was unusual and tasty, the BLT better than we could make at home, and my Ruben well made and not soggy at all (my pet peeve). Much, much better food than anticipated for a joint out in the woods, and cheaper and far less pretentious than Whistling Jacks (and closer to town).

Under new management, the experience is getting even better with more option. Known for great fish and chips, but there are now a variety of different main course along with tasty daily specials. This last time we had a Rueban, a tasty pasty and the pork shanks were fabulous.
