The six of us had a wonderful dinner at the Golden Ocean Restaurant. My husband ordered one of the combination meals and his favorite spring rolls. Our daughter ordered one of the pan fried noodle dishes and honey walnut prawns. I enjoyed shrimp with cashew nuts. The serving platters were extremely large and my daughter took home several dishes for lunch the next day.

Neither my husband nor I have had Vietnamese food in the past, so this was an adventure. Pho Thao is a small restaurant that probably seats 30 or so. It handles a lot of takeout orders.I believe the owner served us and was very helpful with what we should order. The spring rolls are enormous (nothing like the Chinese ones we're used to). The small pho was more than enough for 2. The flavors were delightful -- very delicate. We plan to go back at least once before our vacation ends.

Checked into our lovable room at Manresa Castle and we had no idea this little gem was right downstairs. Several of the cocktails sounded tempting but as per usual we went with some of the regularly rotating taps, a horchata blond ale was fantastic last night. We were tempted to go out and explore Port Townsend when we first got in but the menu here was so tempting we ended up staying put for the night. The yakitori classic and the Oh My Goodness were amazing, highly recommended. Great drinks, great food, good prices, very pleasant little atmosphere and I would come here even if I wasn't staying at the hotel.

We were Chinese hungry, and had passed this place several times on our beach combing trips. We stopped in for a weekday early dinner, and were pleasantly surprised. We both had hot sour soup and kung pao chicken. The soup came out bubbling hot, and was excellent. The kung pao was spicier than I expected - we were offered a choice of from 1 to 5 on heat, and while my partner, she of the cast-iron stomach, chose 4, I backed it off a bit to 3. I still worked up a good seat on my bald head, but the flavors weren't overpowered by the spicy heat.As we ate, we could watch container ships and pleasure craft plying their way through the Admiralty Inlet and out the Strait of Juan de Fuca. After dinner, we were brought a small plate of melon chunks as dessert, followed by warm towels. We took a sunset stroll along the beach, accompanied by the ever-present seagulls and other sea birds. At certain times of the year, you might be able to spot a whale or two, maybe a seal here and there.All in all, a very nice dining experience at a family owned restaurant.

We had not visited this restaurant since the change in ownership, but were pleasantly surprised. The service was super-attentive, and the atmosphere very welcoming. I very much enjoyed the bento box, which came with a delightful selection of dishes: all texturally different, but all delicious and enough to share. My husband was a little disappointed in his entree scallops, which arrived on an plank with an accompanying bowl of rice. Not what he expected for an entree, but maybe he just misunderstood the menu. We will certainly be returning to this conveniently-located local spot.

I rarely give a restaurant 5 stars, Hanazono deserves evey one. Simply wonderfully prepared, presented, quality food. Salads are usually a restaurant profit engine, and usually disappoint. Our Sashimi Salad here has nice cuts of sashimi, and a beautiful assortment of greens. The Tan Ran Ramen was the best I've had outside of Japan, and the Champon, rare even in the growing number of Ramen shops where we live in the Seattle area, was super flavorful. The Baked Pear on Ice Cream with Caramel Sauce was also exquisite. It's a long trek to Port Townsend for us, but we'll be back to dine with Kaori-San and her attentive crew at Hanazono again and again!

When one is tired, hungry and travel weary, 123 will take care of you, whether you eat in or take your meal to go. They have every Thai food with some great specials. My favorites are Thai basil noodle, green curry and pad Thai. Of course the spring rolls are special as well. Everything is prepared in sight so you know it must be right! Service is always so very pleasant. Itâs a Port Townsend winner.

A gaggle of six women descended ravenously after our board meeting. The service was fast, superb, efficient and most pleasant. Each meal was more beautiful than the next from red curry, broccoli cashew, salad, eggplant, mock duck and drunken noodle. Not a morsel left. Enjoy your visit.
