It had been nearly a year since we'd last been here. The decision to have pizza was last minute and since we were in the area, Time Out was the choice. The buffet was in the offering for your today. A quick look confirmed the obvious - a variety of semi-dried out slices of pizza, onion rings and chicken wings. What the heck, give it a go, I thought. My wife, who's idea it was for pizza wasn't as thrilled. I loaded up with three pieces of pizza and two wings. While they weren't very warm I find to be okay enough. My wife, however, was not as happy with the offerings. Even when fresh pizza was put out, they weren't very warm. Again, I was okay with it but not so with my wife. We'll go back but the buffet will NOT be the choice.

Lovely little place with interesting decor, friendly staff, good food and excellent coffee. Reasonably priced with a good menu.
My wife and I decided to have a lunch break at 12Hawks. Walking in I saw the special board which offered a chicken breast, barbecue sauce, sauteed onions and cheese. It looked fine to me. My wife, after perusing the menu, chose the chicken fried steak.I was impressed with the number of woman in the bar eating lunch. In fact, most of the customers were ladies. Just an observation. Our food came out. My plate had so many fries I knew I wasn't going to finish all that. The sandwich was very tasty. I thought before the fries were homemade. These were not. But they were crisp and tasty. My wife's chicken fried steak was twice the size other places give. The gravy was decent and the mashed potatoes were real and herbed. Our service was great. There was never a chance for anything to go wrong. Servers were always around and checking on things. This is a great little place. Oh, TVs... Lots of them in the bar. I asked for one to be changed to hockey. This was quickly done for me without bothering anyone else.I like this place. It's a great joint.
Shortly before 10:00am the parking lot is filled, no spots available in front of the building and a few places looking possible behind the kitchen. We managed to get one of those. In the restaurant it's busy. However, the number of cars belie the number of patrons. Everybody must have driven themselves. We were quickly greeted, coffee in hand. (My kind of place!) Orders were taken, sausage patty, eggs over easy, rye toast for me. Bacon, eggs, sourdough and a Pepsi for my wife. It's fun to watch the goings-on in a place like this. Having worked in restaurants for years it's always intriguing to me. This is no different. Three servers kept this place running smoothly. Our food came out quickly. It was appetizing looking and tasty. My only complaint was there sausage was overcooked on one side and undercooked on the other. Balance, I guess. My wife's food was decent, all in all. (Having eaten a couple rashers of her bacon I can say for certain they were tasty.)We will be back.
There's only really two vehicles rules to making a milkshake. 1. Use the appropriate flavoring. 2. Make it so the customer can suck it through a straw. They got the first part right and failed miserably on the latter.A milkshake that isn't thin enough is nothing more than ice cream in a cup. If that's what I wanted, that's what I would have asked for. But I didn't. I had to wait nearly 30 minutes for it to be thin enough to actually enjoy. For the record, this business is for sale for slightly less than $800,000.
