We went here for dinner being in the area and seeing this restaurant. Our first impression was WOW - Very nicely done setting inside. Very clean and comfortable. We where seat within a few seconds, the wait staff took our drink order immediately and returned with our drinks in quickly. After we scanned the menu and decided what we wanted, the wait person seemed to know we where ready to order and was right there to take the order. About 6 or 7 minutes later, our order was served as ordered and hot. We both had Pho which was the best we've had so far. The broth isn't salty like so many we had over the years. This restaurant is a MUST if you like Pho and other Asian foods. We will be coming back soon.
Where to eat Chinese food in Everett: The Best Restaurants and Bars
A hidden gem of a restaurant, Chop Express came out of nowhere. The gps directed us to what seemed to be further and further from civililzation, then POP! There was this strip mall with Thai, Japanese, Indian and Korean restaurants, one of them being Chop Express. I wondered how good this place could really be. I mean we seemed to be in the middle of nowhere. Boy was I wrong.Normally when you go into a restaurant and see the "food photos", those are styled up and glamorized to tempt you. I mean when I go into a McDonalds, that luscious juicy burger in the menu photo shows little resemblance to what I see when I pop that food box open. But at Chop Express, what you see in the photo IS what you get. Yes, that burrito is as huge as it looks. Yes, that burrito is as delicious as it sounds in the description. And yes, although I thought I was starving, I was only able to finish half of my burrito. My wife had the Kraken (fried cod, french fries, crab, calamari, pickled daikon, cabbage with spicy mayo). I saw crab in the description, but it is mostly fried cod and calamari. Still, it's pretty good. The Locosoba (yakisoba with Korean bulgogi) was pretty good too. Our daughter had the pho, but I'd say go with the burritos instead. Just do the half half with someone so you can try different ones. The burritos are great because there is a lot of meat and not just fillers. Sounds like the Flaming Boar is a winner too, but only if you like spicy stuff. The unexpected burrito fillings make this a place we will definitely come back for!

My wife eats here on a regular basis. I love the food (particularly the beef lomein). The food is always fresh and the staff is attentive and friendly. The prices are great and the portions more than ample. The only draw back from me is the lack beer or wine, which never would keep me from coming back.

For Everett, and as an alternative to driving to Seattle's International District, this Chinese/Vietnamese restaurant is an excellent choice. The Janbo Cafe is a smallish restaurant but bright and clean for on-site dining. While we were there, it was clear that they also had an active take-out clientele. We ordered Vegetable Deluxe, Chow Fun with Pork, Almond Chicken and Beef Brisket Pho. The large bowl of pho was excellent, and although the Chinese dishes were also very good, the sauces used for the chow fun and chicken dishes made them taste too much the same. Next time, we will consider ordering more of a variety of foods. The owner was our waitperson and could not have been nicer. Dessert was a HUGE homemade cream puff for each of us, was a surprise and was complimentary! Don't confuse the Janbo Cafe with the Chinese restaurant of the same name and also in Everett which has some terrible reviews.
