This restaurant has been a family favorite for years and years...the "down home" kind of food & service brings us in often. They have delicious home-made soups & desserts. While it's not a fancy place to eat, it consistently provides us with a good meal & friendly staff.

Please remember that you are eating at a truck stop,and this is a truck stop menu with standard truckstop fare. As far as that goes,the food here isn't too bad! Nothing to write home about,but some good honest food,good menu variety and a decent price:) The staff is always friendly and attentive,We will not hesitate to eat here again,Nice Breakfast anytime!

We're visiting the US and it has been my dream to eat in a 'Happy Days' style diner since I was a little girl. This weekend we went to visit friends in Yakima and ended up in Mel's Diner for breakfast 2 days in a row (no coincidence!). Eating at Mel's made my childhood dream come true. The interior was stunning, the service outstanding and the owner, Fred, even came up to our booth to shake our hands and ask us how we're doing. The good was cooked to perfection, portions large enough to sure, and coffee poured freely. The waitresses were even wearing 50s uniforms. Anyone who's ever near Mel's Diner, make sure to go in and eat there. It's a very memorable experience.
