I enjoyed one of the lunch specials - eggplant and chicken, which was mildly spicy, fairly greasy, tasty but not exceptional. They served a generous portion at a good price. However, I was quite turned off by the unnaturally pink sauce drizzled over the won ton wrapper that comes with the entree.

Not our first Alec's visit, but my first time reviewing it in TA. Traveling with kiddos that have not developed a taste for the sea yet, this place is a very safe bet because of their extensive menu. It's close to being a seafood 'diner,' and nothing you see farther inland. It's dated, with kitschy decor and booths, fraught with professional middle-aged gal servers who are all hyper-busy, and young teens getting in hours during the Summer busing tables and asking folks if they'd like more water. It all works in perfect harmony in my opinion. We took no prisoners. In fact, every fresh pan fried oyster I slovenly devoured put up no resistance to my tartar and cocktail sauce. I have never had a bad bite of seafood in this town, but Alec's has always offered a level of family dining comfort like no other in town...

Fair prices. Staff is great, friendly, helpful and attentive without being pests. Food is very good with one exception.... the Chow Mein combo dishes. They do not drain the Chow Mein. Shrimp gets soggy, gravy gets watered down, any dry or crispy sides get wet. It ruins flavors and you are left with food in a puddle. Request the Chow Mein on a separate plate. And, do not drink the water unless you live in OS. Tastes terrible. We eat here often Average bill for two is $30.00 plus a tip.

This is a nice bright sushi place with the stereotypical decor in the corner of a strip mall. We started with the Miso Soup which was a bit shy on flavor and had sparse tiny tofu pieces and slivers of green onion so we were a bit apprehensive about the sushi we ordered. The sushi was excellent. We had the superman and the umi rolls which were artfully done and tasty. The service was friendly and efficient.
