Always have one meal here as they have friendly service from hostess to server (Katie) and owner. Not your usual mass produced food but fresh and original. Katie suggested one of the specials and it was great! They have excellent sides like a cabbage salad and avocado spread. Chili relleno and enchilada were hot, flavorful and well presented. If you want special Mexican food this is the place. Go early as it gets busy and as someone noted loud. Katie, great job

Chimayo is located in the heart of Eastsound village on the west (back) side of the gray âOur Houseâ building on the west side of the street. Look for our sign hanging above the sidewalk in the front of the building.

I've lived on Orcas for 3 years and have avoided Chimayo in the day - primarily because if I wanted to bus my own table I'll just stay home. I've had Sazio's in the evening and it is quite good - quality ingredients and attention to detail. Staff was friendly enough, place is clean, price is OK if you don't get anything on the side - ie. chips, beans and rice, etc. The tacos looked good but were bland and packed with a pound of lettuce which must have not been dried properly after washing because the tacos were sitting in 1/2 inch of water. Beef was tender but flavor was bland and maybe a bit off. The

Terrible restaurant. I had the fish, which I should have known better than to order at a cheap looking Mexican place, but I thought it might be okay since we were in the islands; WRONG! It was several days old, and undercooked. My wife's margarita was obviously from a mix, and was terrible. And to top it off, the prices were probably double what they should have been. Oh, and runny refried beans!
