The Swiss Restaurant & Pub is housed in an historical 1913 building near downtown museums, retail shops and the University of Washington, Tacoma Branch. Come and see Dale Chihuly's collection of Venetian glass that sits atop our bar while enjoying lunch a
On business staying at the Courtyard downtown and stumbled across this place as there are not too many options for eats downtown at 9PM. Itâs at the top of the hill behind UW Tacoma. The Parkway Tavern is the perfect neighborhood "dive" bar. Located in Tacoma's historical Stadium District since 1935, serving some of the finest craft beer and wine in town. Join us for good food, delicious beverages, and a comfortable atmosphere. We hav
This place makes a very good cheeseburger. Wanted to get that out there before I rhapsodize over their awesome love affair with Keg beer. They have an awesome, downright legendary, love affair with the keg. Exotic fresh on-tap beers from all over have been, will be, and currently are being poured there to lure you in. Great friendly staff there too! Photo shows their ("world's largest"?) impressive collection of taps they keep in circulation.

An amazing tavern of old in Old Town. Must try the Spar Chips with famous Spar sauce. Been coming here for decades and have seen it grow -- but maintain quality.

Clam chowder was good with big chunks of potato while the clams were not too chewy. Excellant flavor. Fish was lightly battered. Try the orange dijion dressing with my salad. Very tasty! Our waitress was sweet and friendly without being tooo hovering. This was a lovely way to end a busy day.

Needed to get off freeway and the ridiculous traffic during rush hour. Near the University, which means itâs downscale. Only pay parking:$1/hrOrdered the BLT with Dungeness Crab. Extra $6, not much crab, not worth it. Sourdough bread came out soggy and the bacon looked liked it was cooked this morning. The garlic fries were Luke warm, at least the beer was good

Close to the U of Puget Sound campus, Red Hot is a fun place to stop in for a beer and hot dog -- and to try all their amazing varieties of both.It has a comfortable tavern feel -- the many booths are cozy. The vegan and veggie options make it great for selective eaters. We enjoyed the Tacoma Dog, North End Dog, and the Hound Dog (yes, peanut butter and bacon!).

If you want great food and variety- this is the place. It definitely gives a "hole- in- the- wall" feel, but it is one of my favorites. I love their nachos and their Taco Thursday deals are great. My vegetarian friends rave about the Buddha wrap and go just for that! Oh, and I almost forgot about their awesome brunch! The only downside is its often difficult to find a place to sit, especially when it is their taco night.

Based on a recommendation from a mutual friend, we tried this restaurant. It was also reviewed in Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives. The food was excellent. I had the Twisted Reuben and it was delicious. They do offer gluten free buns for $2.00 more. There is no parking lot, so finding a spot on the street can be a little tricky. There are plenty of side streets nearby to park on.
