Find out what American restaurants to try in Friday Harbor. Sleepy and secluded Friday Harbor is a tiny town with big personality and rich history. Small enough to walk from one end to the other, the coastal fishing village is dotted with picturesque turn of the century wood frame houses, historic storefronts, Coast Salish native carvings and not a stoplight in sight. Stroll through the Historic District, visit informative museums, explore the Port of Friday Harbor waterfront park and see the local populations of orcas and whales from the shore.

Very confusing interaction with the employee who seemed unsure of what was happening. I try to cut businesses slack because of full employement, the problems of seasonal business areas attracting quality help, yada, yada, poor training, etc. but sometimes the outcome is just not good. With menu in hand I started to order a sandwich. Was told oh sorry we're out of those meats. Okay forget custom how about a hot Italian sub from the menu. Okay, handed a wrapped cold sandwich. I thought this was a hot sub? Answer oh sure, handed back sandwich, got a beverage, took it out to my partner, returned to counter to be handed the same cold sandwich. Okay I give up. Started into sandwich and noticed it contained one of the 'sorry we're out' meats. It was on a stale roll which split down the middle (lengthwise) on the first bite attempt and fell apart, so it ended up being eaten as finger-food. Granted the ingredients were fairly decent quality, but the value was poor (even after considering the island expense mark up factor). I had a much better pre-made sandwich from King's a few days earlier, same size, nearly half the price. I am not a demanding customer and I pride myself in fair reviews, but this offering was way below the standard of expectations based on the prior reviews. Maybe it was just a bad day with a middling employee. Unfortunately it's a huge world of travel and I accomplished my goal in the San Juan Islands so I doubt I'll ever return to give it another go. I hope your experience is better - I reserve my recommendation.

The Friday Harbor House Restaurant is a comfortable, welcoming destination for locals and visitors alike. Islanders can wind down at the end of the day with a group of friends while hotel guests can enjoy a multi-course island dining experience. All will
The Friday Harbor House Restaurant has a commanding view of the harbor from its outdoor patio. The food is fresh, well presented, and tasty, though not particularly creative. Service is thoughtful and efficient. The bananas Foster are especially good.

We had a wonderful time dining on the patio on a Saturday evening with gentle, live music to serenade us while we dined on perfectly broiled flank steak paired with delicately seasoned seasonal vegetables and delicious shrimp with sweet potato grits highlighted with a balsamic vinegar reduction. We concluded the meal by sharing a lovely chocolate bundt cake and ice cream.

Rocky Bay Cafe looked promising and seems to have good reviews. The service was vague and inattentive. We received our order which was remarkably unremarkable. I like my hash browns a little crispy but they came soft and mushy. We paid and left to begin exploring the islands. Our trip was cut short by a sudden cramping in our lowered tract and spending the rest on the day and evening on the commode. We drank copious quantities of Pepto but whatever it was it wasnt slowing down and continued into the following morning.

Nice menu with variety of entrees, small plates, appetizers...Group of 4 ladies for dinner- all ordered different items. All very good! Beer on tap from local brewery~ really enjoyed the porter. Reasonable prices. They didnât give us any trouble about splitting entrees. Just a good place to go. I would go again if in the area.

Duck Soup Inn is a rustic island restaurant serving Pacific Northwest cuisine. We hope to offer you a sense of place by showcasing the bounty of the islands we are blessed to call home. From local farm produce, meat and seafood, foraged edibles from land
It's been decades (yes, really) since we first ate at Duck Soup Inn - a shame. But we're planning rectifying that omission whenever we're in town.Food was superb - the scallops were perfection (my meal) - and my three companions also raved about their food as well.

I donât recall ever leaving a bad review, but the service at this restaurant was outrageously bad. A group of six of us had a birthday dinner celebration at this restaurant on a Friday night in August. Nice limited menu, outdoor seating, somewhat pricey to some extent with entrees in the $30 range but fine as this usually means a quality dining experience. Our reservation was at 7:30 but they seated us at 8. No big deal. Our waiter offered us some drinks and apps, and later took our dinner order. A good bit later, he returned and said a big group had come in and their order was before ours and this was the cause of delay. About 30 minutes later, he came back and said he forgot to turn in our dinner order. He came by about 10 minutes later to say that he was done for the evening, someone else was taking over, and he was going drinking in the adjoining bar. Nobody else really took over. We continued to patiently wait and about 30 minutes later our food finally arrived. At this point, the restaurant was closing down. No dessert or coffee was offered. We could not even find a waiter to get the check. When they did bring the check, it included a mandatory 20% tip. At this point, two and a half hours into the dinner, I felt the 20% tip was ridiculous and asked for the manager. I explained the 20% tip was quite high in that we had only recently received our dinner, our waiter quit on us to drink (10 feet away), and no other waiter took over. The manager came back, surly, took off a couple appetizers and the 20% tip, and cleared plates himself, albeit in a hostile manner. I paid cash and left a small tip, gave it to the manager at the bar. Then the manager came out and threw the change (not the bills) at us in the parking lot. Restaurant had good reviews, maybe it was a bad night, but extremely unprofessional behavior and poor service ruined the meal.

Fresh, local and always from scratch seasonal cooking. Sandwiches on bread baked fresh daily and house-roasted meats, featuring local produce and accompaniments. Daily rotating deli case packed full with entree, salad and side selections to eat in or carr
We went for lunch. Menu somewhat varied with some âdifferentâchoices for lunch. Maybe a little too gourmet for my taste, although some of our parties sandwiches looked delicious. The clam cakes were good, but nothing special. The squash soup was good, but-nothing special. You can dine at tables indoor while gathering your meal as it is prepared and called; or you can dine in the back on a terrace area or on the front porch outside of the restaurant. It is serve yourself after you order. Various items on the menu are a little pricey for lunch. Nice ambience. Staff helpful and accommodating. Probably would return and try something else on the menu.
