After looking at the reviews of Deep Water on TripAdvisor we decided to have dinner there. It was a great choice. The special of the evening was a tenderloin with shrimp, roasted red potatoes and asparagus. The steak was done to perfection, the shrimp was perfectly done and the asparagus was crisp tender. The broiled Walleye sandwich with caper dill mayo and spinach on a ciabatta roll was delicious. I tried the apricot wheat beer and loved it.
Service was good and the manager interacted with the guests.

Cons:
You're might wait for a table
We came not expecting much, and we're blown away by the quality and flavor of the food at this restaurant. They have a full menu with pizza, salads, paninis and melted cheese dishes, and they offer one pasta dish each night. The pasta special the first night was quite possibly the best pasta dish I have ever tasted. My husband enjoyed our dinner so much the first night of our mini-vacation that we came back the next day. We ordered one small pizza and one other dish each night, and every bite was amazing.
This guy knows his stuff!

The atmosphere is really nice. The service is friendly and very good at what they do. The location is very convenient and they have outdoor seating if you would like to enjoy the weather. I only had the coffee and it was very good. I would recommend stopping here.

Now the standing "great plan" for a summer outing is picking up a couple sandwiches from Ashland Baking Company for the cooler as well as some baked treats and picnic after a hike. I had a "bacon jam" sandwich that couldn't have been more delightful, and my wife had a chicken wrap that was tasty, too. You know the bread is going to be top notch. I consider both sandwiches "creations." Somebody there knows what what tastes good and can make it happen.
Price-wise, you pay a bit more for quality and it is noticeably worth it.
This is a must stop for foodies when in Ashland. I know of no better bakery anywhere.

Friendly coffee shop located in downtown Washburn, WI serving fresh brewed coffee, espresso drinks, smoothies, bakery items, deli sandwiches and featuring Chocolate Shoppe Ice Cream. We have a convenient drive thru and free WI-FI.
Looking for dessert and a really good cup of coffee? Their ice cream is upscale and delicious, servings plentiful, and their coffee was really good. Inside it's cozy and inviting. And the staff was really pleasant.
What's not to like! From the road, you might not think of it as a quaint place, but it's actually kind of cute, and I know it will be my go to on every pass through in Washburn.

My wife and I spent a number of days in the area and I had seen reviews for this place on TripAdvisor.
We stopped in for an early lunch and had the enchilada supreme combo. One each of beef, chicken, cheese and beans enchiladas plus rice and beans. All were good with a very nice mole sauce.
Chips provided to start were extremely fresh and crisp and the salsa flavorful and just the right punch of spice.
Service was fast and very efficient and the prices were terrific.

After a full day of touring and hiking, we stopped to eat at Patsy's. They specialize in local foods starting with six oz. hand-pattied burgers. Wife ordered the Northwoods Burger topped with Apple Wood smoked bacon, cola caramelized onions and Wisconsin cheddar cheese. I had the Lowcountry burger with pimento cheese, and jalapeño peppers. Both were served with fries and pickles. Delicious. Enjoyed our meals with an Alaskan Amber beer.
The bar opened in the late 1800's. At one time there was a brothel on the second floor until a fire closed the business down. It was the place to be and be seen in Washburn - - and is still that today.
Some Friday nights there is a local band playing outside on the patio. Friday nights are also a fish fry with locally caught whitefish.

This is a must stop whenever we are in Ashland. The service is friendly, SUPER friendly, even, the pizza is hot, fresh, and delicious, AND it is very reasonably priced. If you like a good thin crust pizza, this is a great choice!

We had dinner here on Labor Day weekend and really enjoyed it. I ordered the rib eye steak with garlic smashed potatoes and it was perfectly cooked and tasty. My only complaint was that there were some rather mushy vegetables served with the potatoes. The steak was quite pricey compared to other places I've been My husband had pork tenderloin and was happy with that. The have a nice beer and wine selection as well as cocktails. The service was excellent. I wold definitely return.
