Dee Why Hotel

Affectionately known as “the pub” by locals, Dee Why Hotel offers something for everyone. Proudly family-run since 1977, and recently renovated in 2010, we are famous for dishing up the “beaches best burgers”, and home to the largest craft beer collection

Heard this was a great place so went with a few work colleagues. Was not blown away. It was even a bit quieter and thought this was great as there would not be much wait time........It took an hour for 2/3 meals to arrive with 1 meal arriving within 15minutes.The kitchen seemed to be buzzing with people not doing anything, and the waitresses kept dropping more food than it arriving to the table. I picked up a knife off the floor for her and she scolded to leave it there.....huh?? Yes- just leave it there whilst you walk away so someone slips on it and sues you!!!!!The veggie burger was average- quite dry and small for the price of it.My friends had the Caesar wrap and burger with chips. Chips were in old oil- just not appetising. On a positive note the mojitos were excellent. The beer was flowing and good variety. We are very sorry to hear of your experience Kristie as we pride ourselves on fast and efficient service. We take all feedback extremely seriously and would like to investigate further. Can you please email us at [email protected] so that we can learn more.

We often drop into Aqua Bar & Dining when in Dee Why. The restaurant has a nice casual atmosphere & the food is okay too. We particularly like the veal , sage & prosciutto dish as it immediately brings back warm memories of Italy. However last night we wanted to try the Prawn night and we thought the dishes were pretty ordinary. The prawns were deep-fried in a heavy better with a side of chips.

Austrian Beer Bar and Restaurant

Having just returned from Europe we were craving another Schnitzel or two and with a deal on first table this place seemed like a great opportunity to try something new in the area. We ordered the langosh to start which went down very well- crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. I ordered the jägerschnitzel and substituted the potatoes for spaetzli which they accommodated free of charge which was nice. My girlfriend ordered the Hawaiian Schnitzel. The Jäger was great- nice and creamy mushroom sauce and great flavour as always working really well with the spaetzli- would highly recommend! The Schnitzel was ok, just a bit dry and the chips under seasoned but nothing too bad at all. Service was a tad slow considering how empty it was but nothing too bad, staff were friendly and were evidently European which was a nice touch. Overall a really good experience and will likely be returning in the near future.

Flame Lounge and Dining

Flame Lounge & Dining will be closing on Saturday 29 June 2019. The beloved local restaurant re-opening in late 2020 bigger and better than ever.

Dee Why RSL has several restaurants, but Flame is the highest quality among them. It is elegant, has a tastefully designed interior, and several waiters and waitresses are slaloming in between the tables silently. The reason, why we have to go regularly is because Flame is famous for its steak. On our last visit, my order was a Grandma’s crumbed lamb’s brain with mushy peas, mint, prosciutto crisp, horseradish mayo, since I’m not too keen on red meat. From this long name, I only liked the mushy peas. Usually, I’m ordering calf brain, since about my opinion it has much better taste, but here it wasn’t a choice. My partner had his steak and was satisfied with it.The restaurant a bit pricy, only the booze are exceptions since they sold on club prices. The service is attentive and spotless. It is recommended for steak lovers.

The Collaroy

Wander in straight from the sand and grab a coffee and healthy bite; have casual drinks and pizza downstairs while the kids are entertained in the play area; or head upstairs for drinks and a meal at our restaurant headed up by executive chef Jordan Toft.

On our stay in Australia we had driven several times past Collaroy Beach. On this occasion we stopped to explore. Sadly there is little scope for a walk alongside the beach but there was a well planned childrens play area to which we will take our grand daughters to sometime. We ventured into the Collaroy Kiosk, the downstairs eatery of the Collaroy for lunch. It was pleasant inside. We ordered at the counter a Trout Bowl and Granola Bowl which arrived at our table in no time at all. The food was first class. The only negative for us was the drink my wife ordered, a Detox, which came in a plastic bottle and was not A$7.00 enjoyable. We had assumed it was produced on site .Apart from that it was, as stated, first class.
