Staying in a cottage in Butgenbach and visited midweek as non residents; restaurant was virtually full (may need to consider Reservations if in season).Very modern space (must visit toilets, some of best ever been too, however that's not purpose of review).English menus were available and some was spoken. This is predominately a German speaking area with Dutch and Flemish as second rather than English/French. Cuisine was well prepared and presented but very rich for our tastes. With Tasting, Monthly, Special and A la carte menus presentation could maybe be simplified.

We had lunch here after a nice hike and were positively surprised by the quality of the food and the size of the dishes (adequate size after a good hike), as well as the speed with which the food came. Location is convenient, service is accurate and professional, could be warmer/friendlier though. Positive detail: if you ask for a capuccino they check if you mean to have whipped cream or foam milk (instead of bringing you coffee with whipped cream as most places in the Ardennes do)!

Nice interior, friendly staff that even made an effort to speak Flemish. Our whole group decided to go for the suggestion menu ( 4 course) which was reasonably priced. The food as well as the chosen wine was of excellent quality. However waiting times were too long....started at 7Pm we ended our dinner close to 11Pm.

«Le Cyrano», your table in East Belgium. An inventive cuisine depending on the season, the market and availability of local products.
Came here with a colleague/friend who lives nearby and really enjoyed it. Great aperitifs with plenty of local Belgian beers, great food menu in both restaurant and brasserie. Good service (French, German and English speaking). Had pasta and my friend had a great looking steak....MoreMerci pour cet avis

I wanted to conclude my Warrior weekend in Malmedy because this was where 84 of our GI's who had been captured were massacred by SS Lt Col Peiper's men. The city is typical for this region and has changed country ownership several times over the last 100+ years.
I parked close to the Place Albert and found this to be a well run and clean place which was bustling on a sunny but breezy & cold Sunday. The staff was very quick to take care of me and I had a nice Belgian Blonde bier in less than 5 minutes after sitting down.
I ordered a Belgian specialty and it cam hot and fast as well (within 10 minutes of sitting down.) Service and food was very good.

Nice location + very good food. We enjoyed our menu with lots of game + forest muschroom risotto. We appreciated the professional staff who managed very well and gave us good wine recommendations. The price quality ratio was very good

Visited this restaurant after Reading some good reviews from the Tripadvisor community. Let's start by saying you should make Reservations or come in very early. The restaurant opened at 17h but the cook/chef starts at 18h.
The fries are just perfect, just as the mixed grill we had. Nothing fancy, just very tender, well-cooked peaces of meat. My wife had the trout which was very tasty as well. Especially the white wine sauce.
I do have a suggestion for the owner: Serve your meat dishes on a hot plate to avoid the meat from cooling too fast.
The restaurant has baby seats but I wouldn't recommend taking small children. The waiter suggested to let our kids share a portion of fries which was thoughtful but the fries came without plates. The frikandellen that we ordered for the kids came in a plastic disposable tray which was a little disappointing.
The staff was nice, the food was great, and the prices were right. I would recommend this restaurant if you're in Malmedy.

Three of us eat here mid-week and the place was soon filled up with locals. We ordered a range of starters to share and I had the pasta for a main course. It was delicate with a great light sauce. What made the evening was the really good service from the staff. They took the time to talk through the menu and help us decide.

Probably the most sophisticated restaurant in the town of Malmedy. Yet there is no pretention. The menu and carte are clear and simple. Food quality is high and italian wines to match. Only draw back can be the quantity. Not for the hungry, rather for the taster. If you are really hungry there are plenty run of the mill restaurants on the square.
