Café Katariina is located in the centre of the City of Voru at a distance of only a little walk from Katherine Church towards the lake. In the cosy Café you can enjoy good coffee and excellent buns and cakes that have been baked on the spot. If you want to have a more hearty meal, then pizza, warm soup and salad are also on the menu. In case of an advance notice, the Café also makes pizzas, tarts, pretzels and twist buns.
Been visiting Cafe Katariina many times over the years and I am pleased to say that they are doing an excellent job on serving tasty meals and keeping customers happy.

In Jaagumae Toidukeskus you can get fast, simple and delicious meals. A large part of the meals in the menu is made of the raw materials of Jaagumae Farm. Toidukeskus is an ideal place for catering tourist groups and celebrating different events.
Almost all foods are with the same taste and poor quality. Salads often withered. Not a very clean place.

Café Spring is located on the shore of Lake Tamula at the end of Petseri Street, where you can enjoy beautiful view of the Lake, good food and cosy surroundings. On the first floor of the Café there is a Terrace, a room for seminars and festive dinners and a Finnish sauna and an infrared sauna.
Restaurant have a Terrace with excellent view over the lake. Food was delicious, just it is better not to expect dishes to be like the items they are named as: for example chocolate fondant is just good-tasting chocolate cake, but it is not a chocolate fondant. Also cold tomato soup is not like gaspaccio, but it is like ketchup with water :)
Café Kalevite Kodu is located in the centre of the City of Voru just on the main street. It is possible to buy candies and biscuits of the Kalev candy factory in the Café.

Pub Randur is a good dining establishment for wanderers and other guests from far and near. It is open from early in the morning till late at night. The Pub menu is diverse and the Pub Terrace is a good place to enjoy delicious food, company and the noise of a small city.
Traditionally presented pub. Visited as part of large party. Service good and speedy. Food lovely. Quite large portions. Salmon was served with a creamy sauce which was delicious. Cake served for dessert was also very tasty. Would visit again if in town.
Café Kannel is a comfortable place to have a cup of coffee while taking a stroll in the City of Voru and have a look at the Exhibitions of Voru City Gallery located in the same house. In summertime a beautiful Terrace Seating up to 40 people is open. The Café is also open during different events held in the Cultural Centre Kannel.

The interior design of the 90-seat Kubija Restaurant uses the elements of local cultural heritage, which create pleasant atmosphere for the whole room. The Restaurant kitchen offers delicious meals both for those who like national food as well as for those who prefer traditional à la carte dishes.
The restaurant seems to be resting on its laurels as it is one of the few restaurants in Võru.
We had a package deal and we were offered the same buffet meal on day 1 for dinner and on day 2 for lunch (breaded pork chops). The food is kept warm during the entire meal period and it is very simple meat and potatoes.
We also tried the a la carte, but it seems that the kitchen is small as they were not able to handle a few tables ordering a la carte. All of our dishes came out at different times and the meat was over cooked.
With the spa promoting itself as an eco-spa, the restaurant was far from that with the food coming from large producers rather than locally.
Luckily, the service was friendly and reasonable.
The owners really need to invest in a better restaurant to complement the impressive spa component and the beautiful location.

Pub Moisa Ait is located in a historical building just on the main street of the town of Voru. We offer a good and friendly service and delicious meals. In summer you can enjoy good food on the Terrace in front of the pub. We also have a dining room that can be used for parties for up to 70 persons throughout the year.

There is a guesthouse with five rooms on the second floor, housing up to 15 guests.
It is always difficult to find decent eating places in Estonian small towns. This place is situated in old stone building in city centre and has a free parking in front of the building. Staff is very friendly. Prices are very competitive. Last time I visited this place they had a day offer - a lamb stew only for 7 euros. And it tasted excellent. The good thing is also that they offer choice of vegetable as a side dish which is not yet very common in Estonian restaurants.
You can taste local food from the Manor food cellar and a selection of national dishes.

When visiting the Observation Tower of Suur Munamagi there is a good possibility for taking a break and drinking a cup of coffee or tea on the highest hill of the Baltic countries. A beautiful view of the forest unfolds from the window of the Café.
After performing on the Terrace in front of the observation tower we were delighted to be able to sit down and be served a very pleasant pasta lunch by the friendly waiting staff before finishing our meal with choc ices and all washed down with the reasonably priced local beer. All this and a great location.. recommended.
