We used to eat at La Cadiere with my late father on our way to Marseille-Marignane airport and were delighted to find that, 10 to 20 years later, it has kept the same high quality of food and service. We arrived at 12.15 on a Thursday lunchtime and by 13.00 the place was packed! Couldn't fault it and it was a great way to end our trip on a high note.

Like most people with a (very!) early flight, we opted to stay in an airport hotel. (The Ibis). The only evening eatery is the Courtepaille attached to the hotel. First impressions were quite good - quickly seated, complimentary green salad and apparently plenty of staff. The menu apart from grills is quite limited so I selected the cold meat entree which is usually for two to share and my wife had a prawn and bacon brochette. There was a long wait and the initial impression of plenty of staff quickly turned into one of insufficient and very harassed staff. There were a lot of dissatisfied customers who had clearly had a very long wait and frequently received the wrong dishes.
The bread served was very hard rolls and the toasted bread served with my entree was more of the same with the toasting making them more suitable for shoe leather. One of the items listed for the dish was missing. The bacon wrapped round the prawns was too salty to eat.
The moral clearly is to eat before getting to the hotel and if we stay there again, that is certainly what we shall do. It is a pity that when a restaurant has a captive clientelle with no competition, standards seem to fall.
It was also overpriced!

Five of us had a magnificent lunch at this establishment. The lady doing the running around is called Natalie, with her husband doing the cooking and her daughter helping with the serving. And, most importantly, the restaurant dog Tyson! It was very busy and with only the three of them, getting served can take some time, so kick back and enjoy a bottle (or two) of Rose wine while you're waiting for the menu (that'll be Natalie). They speak no English which made the experience even better. We asked her to 'feed us' and she duly did, with the Menu fixe (three courses and a glass of wine) of only €14 a head!! Thank you Natalie (and Tyson, who appears on the street view Google map as well as the pics we took.)!

Great find ,lovely location only a few km from Marseille airport on beach front. Nice menu very reasonable with good portions and parking. so we knew the car full of cases was safe. Well recommend as either a stop off on way to airport or for dinner . My shop suey, mixed starter , prawn skewers and great service from friendly people
