Beautiful location
Reviewed By Graham HThis hotel is in a stunning location with off-street parking. The staff are polite and helpful and we found the rooms to be clean, spacious and attractive with good en-suites; however, noisy plumbing kept me awake most of the night, and I had to remove one of the light bulbs from a wall unit which seemed to lack an off-switch; sadly, my French language was not good enough to explain these things at the time. There was a good and varied selection on the breakfast bar, although the dining area had the feel of a canteen in spite of the high quality decor. My evening meal was excellent; my friend's steak was not. Overall, it's not a bad place to stay and the beautiful location may more than compensate for any negatives.

Great staff/owners and a confortable stay
Reviewed By Cha909The owners manned the Reception desk and ran the hotel. They were very welcoming on our arrival and were always polite and friendly during our stay. The on-line website shows rooms at the front which is what we were expecting. Instead, we had booked one of the cheaper rooms at the back which had no view but was perfetly adequate. We even saw red squirrels and deer from our bedroom. Breakfast was good with plenty of choice and the swimming pool was a welcome attraction after a hard day touring the Dordogne. Clearly, this is not a five-star hotel but if you want a quiet and relatively inexpensive stay, this is a good choice.

At 5 km from Sarlat, in the heart of the Dordogne,"Périgord noir", in a pleasant setting, wooded and quiet surroundings, enjoy the poolside of our 5 comfortable rooms with separate entrances, including breakfast. At 2 km from the Dordogne valley with its main sites, many hiking trails nearby, circuit cards available. Sarah, Hoël and their children welcome you and are at your disposal to inform you so that your stay is as pleasant as possible. Local produce, good humor guaranteed.

Reviewed By HarryO75We took a family room which was a fair standard for the amount paid (a double and a bunk bed in one room with a good size en suite shower room). It was clean and the children especially liked the sleeping bag style bedding on the bunk beds - very snuggly for a late October night. The owner spoke good English and was helpful. Breakfast was provided and served in a conservatory overlooking the countryside. The only negative was that on a cold night I didn’t want to leave the electric heater on once we went to sleep because the curtains were draped over it, so it got a bit chilly. I would definitely stay here again.

Unwind and relax in our four charming self-catered cottages, well-equiped, spacious and calm yet close to everything. Each has an independent access and a private garden or terrace with a BBQ. At our doorstep await the most remarkable sites of Dordogne within the Golden Triangle of Périgord Noir, among them Sarlat, with its old medieval city, its bountiful restaurants and markets, as well as the villages of Domme or La Roque-Gageac, or the castles of Castelnaud and Beynac.

Castles, prehistoric sites and sumptous gastronomic restaurants are all within reach, and when you come back or decide to take a day for relaxation, you'll feel right at home at Le Petit Manoir. The gites are roomy and well-appointed with all of the amenities required to make the stay a memorable one. The grounds are beautiful and pleasant to stroll. There's even a pool for a refreshing swim after a long day. If that's not enough, You be welcomed by warm and knowledgeable hosts who are there to offer advice if you need it. My visit was short but memorable. This is a place you'll want to return to again and again. I look forward to my next stay at Le Petit Manoir.
