Things to do in Suva
Was excited to go because of the great reviews but was really disappointed. Food was way to expensive for what we were given. Paid over FJD$50 for $5 food, hopefully their real chef was away because the food was not what was expected. Also a really noisy environment and tight uncomfortable seating. All together was a bad experience with the only upside being really good wait staff and service.
Food excellent, beautiful setting by the pool.. Only bad thing is the ladies who serves dont smile and are not customer friendly. They look like they dont enjoy their job. But after all beautiful hotel and Restaurant and great Food.
My new favourite restaurant...food is absolutely delicious and a healthy choice. Try the Poke Tuna its my new staple dish. Prices are reasonable considering the quality and quantity. Can never go wrong with any dish on the menu.

Large selection of decently sized chinese dishes. Large tables suit big groups. Can definately recommend the deep fried fish and sweet and sour pork.

Came here for lunch today and this place is one to avoid. The service itself was either a hit or a miss, but our food came quickly since it was an empty restaurant. The sitting in the restaurant is really uncomfortable as the chair is much lower than the table, much lower than usual standards so I did struggle a bit to eat because of this. The food was overpriced, chicken dishes costed $29 and had absolutely no flavor in them lacklustre at best.My main issue here is how expensive this place is and the quality of food is missing, sure you get a plate full of whatever you order but its bland. I forgot what we ordered, but whatever it was I would have gotten the same quantity with a better quality for $7-$10 at either Pekking or Southern Cross.

Suva is the national capital. The limited choices of restaurants would lead you to believe otherwise. Cafe Victoria was OK. Server seemed intimidated by us.

We visited, without booking, and were made welcome, and were lucky to get a table. Immediately we were welcomed by the staff and made to feel comfortable. Choice is decided from a huge menu board and once you have done this, you are invited to enjoy an excellent side salad. The mains were generous portions and we had lobster and fish fillets, and prawns Lolo (coconut cream), both with rice. Both were cooked well and not overcooked, which seems to be a trait here in Fiji. To cut a long story short, it was so good we returned early the next night to make sure we got a seat, and we were again, not disappointed. Cotton table cloths and napkins make the dinner more enjoyable and the service is excellent. Our thanks to everyone for two super nights.

We have eaten here several times and the food is always delicious, and the atmosphere great. Our favourite restaurant in Fiji. One of our favourite dishes is the Kokoda - so flavoursome and melt-in-the-mouth. Also love the Nuqa Fish dish. For dessert try the apple pie - yum!!! Thanks Eden.Thank you Nicky for the wonderful review, It is always a pleasure to have Brad and family visit. Was such a delight to meet the kids esp have Kaitlan enjoy the food. Enjoy your holidays.

Only 5 minutes by taxi from the hustle and bustle of the cosmopolitan melting pot that is 21st century downtown Suva, is a place that offers a step back in time, to when the South Pacific was more than a destination for a little fun in the sun. Heritage M
I have previously posted about my raving experiences here at Governors. This current review is NOT based on the restaurants quality of food - which is always sensational; it is about my experience with the attitude of staff working there. My wife and I decided to try out their breakfast menu; as we arrived there were no other patrons seated inside the restaurant and alas, there was also no waiter in sight. After waiting a few minutes, a burly waitress arrived and WITHOUT A WORD proceeded to slide a menu in front of my wife and literally TOSSED a menu across to my side of the table. My wife and I were certainly surprised and literally wide eyed by this non-verbal introduction, and decided to dismiss this interaction on the basis that that we probably "caught her on the wrong side of the bed morning." After waiting for several minutes without any sign of her returning to take our order, I decided to WALK across myself to the counter to place our orders. Several minutes later a male staff member who I recognized as the usual waiting staff appears out of the blue (presumably out of the kitchen since he was visibly chewing on something whilst carrying a tray of food out to a couple seated outside the restaurant). For the duration of our seating, this very audacious male waiter than proceeded to carry out a prolonged and very loud conversation with the female cooking staff, as if they were conversing at a family function without regard for anyone else in the building. This staff conversation notably exceeded even the volume of my wife and I, as well as of that of some elderly fijian gentlemen who had now been seated in the corner and were also trying to converse above the level of this obnoxious staff member. Our food was delivered by Ms. WokeUpOnTheWrongSideOfTheBed who mumbled something about enjoying our meal, placed our very cold coffees in front of us and then walked over never to be seen again. Feeling very unwelcome and fazed by this unusual experience, my wife and I decided to tidy up our meal as quickly as possible. When I went to pay, surprisingly the male staff then decided to have the first conversation of the morning which comprised of "How was your meal?"To be honest, all I wanted to say was - "The meal was great, however yours and your female colleagues staff attitudes suck!", although I realized that SOMEBODY had to be professional that morning if they obviously would not. I implore the owners of Governors - you have a GREAT establishment; please don't allow pathetic staff attitudes to ruddy your reputation. Just because there are locals dining doesn't mean staff have to easy back on the hospitality and professional demeanour that is expected.
