Reviews on Mexican food in Winchester, Virginia, United States. Sitting at the northernmost corner of Virginia in the Shenandoah Valley, Winchester offers visitors the chance to explore historical sites, museums, vineyards, farmers' markets, and tree-lined Old Town streets once wandered by the likes of George Washington and Stonewall Jackson. The fruitful fields of the surrounding Frederick County have earned the area the title "apple capital of the world," with the city hosting the Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival annually for almost a century.

Back to Las Trancas, our favorite go-to place for dinner. Itâs conveniently located near Target and Loweâs on the north side of Winchester just off the Interstate. The staff are always friendly and this visit was no different. I switched up my usual Enchiladas Verde and hot Enchiladas la Paz this evening. They were filled with crab meat and shrimp. They were good, but I still really love their Verde. As always the chips and salsa come out first and we tend to go through a couple bowls of each.Fun thing tonight was they had the NFL game playing in Mexico City on TV in the bar.We have been there dozens of times and are never dissatisfied.
This place may be authentic, but the prices are on the high side. Tacos are $2.00 each, and very small. I had a $9.00 bowl of pozole, not as good as my homemade version. But not bad, plenty of tender pork. Took over a half hour to get a soup and a sandwich. Three tables in the whole place and they already had their food.
A unique eatery with a menu of Mexican flair and food choices. This is not the typical Mexican restaurant, which made our dining experience fun and notable - a good, but not vast selection of dishes, but is of the farm to table mode with noticeably fresh ingredients..

We got tired of waiting at Oak Stone and just with dinnerdecided to stop and we were quickly served great fresh chiâs& salsa. We both had Cheese enchiladas which were tasty. We finished with a flan which was excellent. We will return again. Also loved the rice served

First time here while visiting in the area. Nice dining room. Mexican staff who spoke 'understandable' English; friendly too!! The food we ordered was meh but it could have been that we just didn't know really what we were ordering. I would try it again when I'm in the area.

Was promptly shown to a booth-seating is a combination of booths & tables. Eliva-waitress- gave plenty of time to chose the Burrito Deluxe. The Deluxe is two burritos-one pulled port & one ground beef-topped with shredded cheese, red burrito sauce, lettuce, sour cream, pico de galle, served with yellow rice & refried or black beans, which was more of a soup than a solid beans. The meal was large enough for a second meal-next night's supper. Overall filling & tasty. For dessert ordered the fried ice cream. From ordering to serving not much more than six minutes withy both serving & price reasonable. The chips were good with the salsa a bit on the spicy side. One plus is the room's interior which has several bright colors-chairs, walls & the bar area. Plenty of parking, as the restaurant is located in small mall. Both the restaurant & meal are recommended.

Having a meeting or just a group that wants good Mexican Food? FOR 10 OR MORE - PICK UP OR DELIVERY! Call El Centro for pick up or delivery! FIESTA PACK (Minimum order for 10 people)
.If you don't read the menu and don't read the name, El Centro Classic Mexican Food and Drink looks just like a classic American restaurant and bar. The menu are collectively Mexican/Latino dishes prepared to please American clientele (not bad actually). The service is fast and the price is moderate (of course with smaller portion which I like that). The location is great. It is located in the heart of the Pedestrian Mall in historic downtown. Worth stop by if you like Mexican food and drinks. A long bar with everyone as bartender. The place is popular with locals and visitors. Not a bad place for lunch when visiting the town.

We drive from New England to SW Virginia regularly and try to make the 12-14 hour trip in one day. By the time we reach the Virginia border on 81 we need a good dinner. The Taqueria is PERFECT! It is not far off the interstate highway and has easy parking. The food is authentic Mexican - I love the chicken in mole sauce, my husband likes the carnitas, and we devour the guacamole! The service is excellent. We feel satisfied and fueled to continue on our drive! Now we plan all our drives south to arrive here for dinner - it is that good.
