Things to do in Chester
We stayed in Richmond overnight and thought this place looked interesting. They sell chinese food, pizza, fish and chips (I think I saw on the menu?) sandwiches which is unusual.I asked a customer who was eating chinese food how it was and he said "good".They seem to do a good business so I thought there really isn't much around so might as well give it a shot. We ordered a chicken chow mien and a shrimp chow mien which just were not good. We took a bite or 2 and threw them out. Maybe it was just what we ordered.
The worst fried rice I have ever eaten, and how much does it cost to make fried rice? Barely could find a piece of onion, and nothing else in there - not even flavor! What a crying shame, that the ownership would allow this to be going on (no small chopped vegetables). The entrees - twice cooked pork and sweet & sour chicken were pretty good, but the fried rice spoiled it for us (wife & I) with the prices paid. Will not be returning, and wouldn't recommend this place to others.
A great place to order a quick carry out. The food is good, but not spectacular. It isn't the type of place to eat in because of the atmosphere. It is your typical Chinese carry out joint.

I decided to visit for something different for lunch near the office. When arriving there was not anyone in the restaurant, but considering it has not been open too long I was not worried. I order the Shrimp Egg Foo Young and was pleasantly surprised. It was very tasteful. The lunch special came with the salad bar, an egg roll and the main entrée.The price is very reasonable and the staff is great. Highly recommend to try this little gem.

Once I find a restaurant that I like I am pretty loyal and tend to stick with it, but I just found a new Chinese place that will be my 1st choice going forward. We visited Triple Eight for takeout because none of the Chinese restaurants in Chester deliver to our area. Triple Eight does not deliver, but they are close and had good reviews on TA. Deservedly so! Our food was fresh and hot, we could watch them prepare it from the dining area, it had great flavor, I had the wonton soup, best I have had since leaving California! The Moo Goo was excellent and Hunan Chicken was very flavorful, with just the right amount of heat. We will definitely return for takeout. The little strip mall that Triple Eight is located in is not much to look at , but the food served inside is outstanding!

Quiet restaurant with comfortable decor, perfect for quiet meals. Staff friendly and cheerful. Tofu proudly listed as an ingredient in a vegetable dish. I tried the hard to find Ma Po Tofu. It was listed as hot and spicy and I told the server I like things spicy. It was not. It was kind of bland. My friend ordered the vegetable fried rice without egg. Very generous portion for the price and actual vegetables in it, but not a lot of flavor. The vegetable dumplings were the best we have ever eaten. Maybe a hint of horseradish to give it some pop of flavor. Cooked well, nice taste and texture. 5 stars+ on them..Portion size: 5 starsStaff: 5 stars

The Hunan Garden has been a favorite for over 12 years and would not miss a visit to this family run restaurant when in the area. Restaurant is always clean and the staff is friendly and helpful. Food is always hot and fresh. Service is outstanding. Prices are very reasonable and variety of menu items is large. My wife and I had the chicken cashew with fried rice and as expected it was delicious. My sister had the meat/vegetables over fried noodles which was abundant and she could not finish it. This is a small establishment with a loyal local following. Will continue my support for this fine restaurant.

We usually rave about this restaurant. Well, not so good this time. The entrees were fine. Some of the other dishes not so much. The rice noodles were plentiful but, flavorless. Condiments didnât help. The scallion pancakes were dripping with grease. They were hot but thatâs about it. So, two for two. Not such a good meal. Maybe the regular cook was off. Definitely not a good meal.
