I have been going regularly to La Petite for over 30 years! Their food has consistently been excellent and continues to get better with age! Wayne the bartender makes an awesome Espresso Martini! The wine selection is good and the food that changes with the seasons always delights the palette!

We had previously eaten at another Skrimp Shack location further south and was awaiting the openings of this location and another closer to home of HWY 17.This is NOT fine dining. Order at the window and wait at the table while it's cooked to order. They will bring it to you. Location recently opened and the staff are being trained, but they have the customer service friendly program down pat. I had the whiting & shrimp basket which was cooked properly, tasted great, not greasy, and my side was the cole slaw which is the pineapple variety and not to my liking. I would opt for one of the other choices. Wife had the Shrimp basket along with fried okra. Both very good. We utilized a local coupon for an order of hushpuppies which were also very good and contained a bit of onion. The dining area and restrooms were new and clean. You fill your own drink order at the fountain area. This is what I consider a no tip establishment based on the process, and we were under $20.00 for our two meals. We needed a decent fish/shrimp place that doesn't command 50 bucks for a meal. And yes it's all fried!!!*Note this review was completed without using ridiculious undiscriptive terms like OMG, awesome, yummy, to die for, do your self a favor, trust me, etc.. We don't care about your allergies or the need for gluten free food. Describe the food, service (or lack of) and provide details on the cost/copy of check and include pictures! Is the place clean? No one cares about the waiter/waitress names or their abilities. They get changed like underwear and you don't get to pick one.

Any place that has Taphouse in its name gets a visit. Place was empty 5:00 p.m. weekday. Staff was friendly enough, service was decent. Just had apps. Old Bay traditional wings gets an A. Fried clams and oyster platter gets a B. Oysters fried right, clams just a tad too much, but good. Self serve beer wall......I don’t understand the appeal, I don’t understand why consumers even support such a thing. I’m not lazy, I’m certainly capable of getting my own beer - at home and not at a place that “serves” food and drink. That being said, the wait staff will get your beer for you. And if you think about it, if you are sitting at the bar, at the bar mind you, and order a tap beer why in the world would you get up from the bar, walk to the other room and fill your glass? I am only harping in this because the staff wasn’t necessarily up front about them bringing you a beer. We spent literally 5 minutes getting instructions on how to use the beer wall - even after stating we used self serve walls in the past (not Fatty’s). It was annoying to the point where I asked, “can we just order a beer from you?” One last criticism- beer glasses just out in the open and stacked - not a chilled glass to be found. Will try again - sit at the bar to receive traditional service.

Just overnight in Fredericksburg heading home to New Jersey. We wanted to eat in a good seafood restaurant. I checked Trip Advisor for recommendations and reviews. Fish N Grill was top rated. It was not near our hotel - had to back track south a couple exits on 95 but well worth it. Excellent seafood. Service was exceptional also.
