First time visit after years of my wife asking. We have a very enjoyable evening. The waiter was very patient with us being here for the first time and very informative. It was fun cooking the food. Great selections. A little pricy but you are partially paying for the experience.

Go to Tastings for the wine. And lots of it! The owner clearly loves wine and is extremely knowledgable. Get a flight, enjoy and learn! Food is good too as is the service.

The tapas were well prepared, beautifully presented and delicious. Most of the staff were courteous, friendly and prompt. However we were perplexed by the amount of wine served in a glass of house wine. Commonly wine glasses are filled to the widest width of the bowl. (google it) Our glass was about ½ inch below this level and we politely asked our waitress to inquire if the correct amount had been poured. Instead of simply adding another ½ inch of wine to the glass, the bartender came to our table explaining that they weigh the wine before pouring into each glass and that we were served the correct amount. That might be their policy, but this response lessened our enjoyment of Parallel 38. We wonât be back.

We here during our visit to various central Virginia wineries. Of the many we tried, Pippin Hill had the most wine that we enjoyed, and we ended up purchasing each one we tasted. The location was beautiful, and Brooks was very informative about their products. I was disappointed that they do not ship to South Carolina where we are relocating, but was happy I may be able to obtain at their sister properties in Charleston. Food was outstanding also. Must stop if you are in the areaHi 513ronw, Thanks for visiting Pippin Hill and for taking the time to write a review! Itâs wonderful to hear that you enjoyed your visit with us and that Brooks delivered a memorable tasting experience. We hope youâll be able to join us again soon at Pippin Hill for another relaxing afternoon or at our sister properties in Charleston, South Carolina -- Zero George and Cannon Green!Warm regards,Elly JacksonAdministrative Assistant

Ordered the "special" fish which was Cod. Waitress on presentation said that the portion looked smaller than my wife's appetizer, which it was. For $28 this was a rip off and was surprising as in the past this restaurant has been reasonable in its portions and prices. They must be hurting financially to be skimping on their portion sizes.

Nicholas was very helpful in deciding what to order. Also, when I didn't care for the appetizer, he discounted my bill. I thought the house-made short rib ravioli was fantastic, as much for the yummy tomato/mushroom/veggie sauce as for the pasta. The sweet potato dumplings for dessert weren't dumplings at all, but flash fried "donut holes" with ice cream and caramel sauce.
