I really enjoy a good Hawaiian plate lunch. When I came into town for work and found two Hawaiian spots nearby I knew I;d be trying them both. I stopped in here for early dinner. Very spacious inside. Lots of seeing. I walked up to counter to order but if you're eating there you just take a seat and they wait on you. Didn't expect that. But the girl waiting on me was very friendly, helpful and attentive. I went with the combo (chicken & beef) along with some spam musubi. The food came out pretty quick. Good-sized portions. Both the chicken and beef were very good. Tasty, nice flavors. The mac salad was nothing special. Seemed to lack some kind of spice that it needed to give it a little kick (not in hot way, just flavor way.) The musubi was good. My only wish was they'd have option to just get one portion as opposed to two. The other Hawaiian place in the area is same way. It's just too much food to eat both portions of musubi as well. But overall a very good meal. Prices are reasonable.

We were looking for chiense/asian food for dinner and felt like trying something new. We tried Ya Ya are glad we did. We ordered the Triple Delight with Fried Rice and the Shrimp Lo Mein. All there were very good and we would order them again. There is not much parking around the restaurant, but there seems to be parking garages close by.

A really pleasant and calming resturant featuring an excellent Thai menu. We selected two curry meals that arrived hot and spicy with a side accompaniment of extra spice. The rice was a perfectly light jasmine that lends well with the spicy food.

We visited for lunch and ordered the wonton soup (chicken and shrimp wontons rather than the usual pork) and Tom Kha soup which offered a choice of chicken, tofu, veggies or shrimp. I expected a small cup, but was presented with quite a large portion. The wonton soup was different from what we have had in Thai restaurants, but it was good. The Tom Kha was excellent! Our main course was Shrimp Panang and Pad Se-ew with chicken. The portions were huge, and we each took half home. If I lived in Norfolk, this would be a "go-to" place to visit.

The restaurant we had selected was closed and I was glad to find a restaurant open for an early dinner. Hokkaido is located in a historic downtown building offering a pleasant atmosphere. The menu offered many options and combinations. Our table ordered an alligator roll, deluxe sushi plate, seafood soup, tuna roll and a salmon roll. The presentation was grand and all fish was very fresh with excellent flavor. The alligator roll was new to us with a good blend of flavors with a sweet sauce.
