In town for the NASCAR race at Martinsville. I like to find local places to eat and I am particularly fond of BBQ, so I couldn't resist Pigs R Us (aka The Checkered Pig).I ordered the two meat platter with pork and brisket. I was skeptical about brisket, because usually East coast BBQ places are not real good with brisket.Well this place is!! Some of the BEST brisket I've had since I was in Kansas City.The platter came with French Fries and really good hush puppies. A wide variety of sides are available. I chose Baked Beans and macaroni salad.The macaroni salad was a bit nondescript for me. Probably wouldn't order it again. The baked beans were good, but they tasted a lot like canned baked beans.However, the brisket and pork more than made up for the sides.It was EXCELLENT!!Kelli was my server and she did a great job explaining the four sauces on the table.Give it a try. EXCELLENT BBQ

My family and I visited Dixie Pig Barbecue today and it was amazing!! We have had yet to find real, true home cooked food but this place had every bit of it!! Delicious barbecue and amazing service, you really cant ask for more!!

If you only like the midwestern bbq - dont expect to like this one. Mostly you will see folks in here that like that flavor and will dose it with additional hot sauce. It also comes with slaw on top. The bbq chicken and f ried chicken are always moist and a great value for us. We have a teen that can eat a tub of chicken easily. We get the buckets packed for take out and the extra bbq and buns for sandwiches. this gives us two or three meals af ter we leave at a greater value. It also comes with a half gallon of tea - we get half and half. None of us has ever gotten a piece of fat in our bbq that we hate. You are checked on often for refills and can go get your own anytime. Our price is about 32.00- you can also get senior discounts. The baked beans are delicious and the slaw is much better than average. We always have enough left over slaw from our deal to use for hamburgers or hot dogs that week.The potato salad is very good. Very nice take home dinners and a fav place for cook outs and parties and they will cater. If you have a church event or bring some thing this will be one of the first items to disappear-top rated food chain in this area.Very casual..
