Located on Bedford Avenue, Small Batch is rooted in a strong history of traditional BBQ. We believe barbecue should be fresh and simple, which is why weâre committed to serving real food to real people. So pull up a seat, sit back and enjoy a damn good se
Our son wanted us to go here and it was for a good reason. This is the best BBQ I have ever had. It had a taste like no other. It was laden with sauce and it definitely wasn't dry. It was just right. It had me at thee first bite. There is sauce on the table but it needed nothing. Nice restaurant and very nice staff. Nothing fancy but clean. We were talking about going back again before we finished eating, This is my favorite place to eat now. Thanks for opening a perfect place to enjoy a good meal. I would recommend it to anyone. We had the pulled pork plate. I can't wait to go back!

If you love barbecue food this is THE place to go in Lynchburg! Your taste buds have been deprived for FAR too long! Why not make them happy with a trip to Poke-E-Joeâs?! If your not sure what to get I highly recommend sticking to the three Bâs: burgers, breakfast and brisket! Yes they serve breakfast (weekends), lunch, and dinner. Why not come here for all three meals? Itâs that good! So donât walk, run to your car like an Olympic sprinter and high tail it over to Poke-E-Joeâs faster than a F-18 Fighter Jet! Itâs good to the last bite! Seconds anyone?

We went on a Friday night about 6.30; our 1st visit. Our server, Lotisha was very friendly but seemed to be running all over the restaurant. The cracklins appetizer was excellent; very light, crunchy and no oily feel or taste. Unfortunately, everything went downhill from there. The service was extremely slow; not sure if it was the kitchen or the lack of servers or both. Even paying for our bill was a long wait. The pulled pork was about at room temperature and the ribs overcooked to the point of being very dry. The mashed potatoes were far from mashed potatoes; more potato pieces with some mash between them. On the plus side, the fries were very good as was the BBQ sauce. Between the disappointing food and long wait to be served; this visit was a completely discouraging experience...not worth repeating.
I visited BRBBQ on a Wednesday mid day for lunch. The counter personnel were friendly but not very friendly. I was basically left to identify available specials/menu offerings. At the time of my order and eating the diet soda drinks were empty, including unsweetened ice tea. They offer 3 different types of BBQ Sauce which were not very original. I opted for the 2 meat platter with cole slaw and fries. I had two portions of the pulled pork. I was surprised by the juiciness of the Pork and the amount of bark served with the meat. However, the juices and bark did not help flavor the pork. There was no smoke flavor to the meat, like the meat had been steam cooked. The sauces gave the meat its smoke flavor. Sorry to not give a very good review, maybe I just picked a bad day.
