Floor was sticky, water tasted like bleach, restaurant kitchen smells wafted into dining room that were reminiscent of a kitchen sponge on the verge of getting thrown out. Also, we put in a gin martini order and they delivered a vodka martini 30 min later, the server was clueless when we asked for hummus (top item on menu). We accidentally first sat in the hookah bar next door which is also part of the restaurant. When we said we donât want hookahs, just appetizers and drinks, we were asked to move to the other side. Not going back.

Excellent food in a small restaurant and grocery store! My husband and I found Bethlehem Restaurant on TripAdvisor while visiting Roanoke. Everything was fresh and cooked to perfection! We had the hummus, lamb kabob platter and kufta kabob platter. The platters come with a very flavorful rice and a fresh âsaladâ that is made of cucumber, pickled red cabbage, onions, parsley, tomatoes and mint tossed in a very light dressing. The grocery section is filled with many interesting foods and spices! Do not judge this restaurant by the outward appearance of the building! Seating is limited to four booths. Highly recommend that you give it a try if you love Mediterranean food!

My wife and I stopped here for lunch while Christmas shopping downtown. This new restaurant had only been open about 3 months and is located only two doors down from a favorite of ours, Nawabs (Indian). Our lunch was delicious. The Afghan soup for $3.95 is a bowl of sumptuous flavor, almost a lunch in itself, served with Naan. We loved the unique seasoning. Our next course was the lamb curry. The portion was very generous and also delicious. We needed takeaway containers because it was more than we could finish. Next time we want to try the kabobs, a feature item of this Middle Eastern cuisine.
