Ate at this restaurant nearly every day for 2 weeks. Breakfast, lunch and dinner were all excellent and the service very attentive. Mainly continental food and nightly dinner specials. The menu caters to the resort clientele so there is not much in the way of typical Ecuadorean food here. But what is here is very good.
All ingredients are very fresh and prepared to order. The in-house made helados and jugos were some of the best I have ever tasted. Salads are fresh, pizza is awesome and pasta seemed to be their specialty. The self-serve coffee and horchata during breakfast hours is a nice touch. Egg dishes are made to order and expertly prepared.
Any restaurant brave enough to have an open kitchen has got to be good and this one is. Do yourself a favor and eat here when you are in Vilcabamba. The ambiance and food are superior. The pricing is typical for tourist restaurants in Ecuador and reasonable. Venture out of the town square of Vilcabamba to this $1 cab ride piece is cielo, you will not regret it.

I have been here 2 months and eaten at all the places and this is the best for it's type.
Wonderful experience at Timothy's. We were ravenous and his Burger plates with Fries
did the trick. The owner was watching a football(soccer) match and was still very attentive to our needs. He studied at a culinary institute in Rhode Island and has some serious burgers. The decor was eclectic and well done for an American Food Sports Bar. Many beers and drinks on hand( and tap)
We understand that he has musicians and bands in at different times. open Monday to Sunday 12:00-24:00

Stunningly fresh food served a a romantic garden setting.
I absolutely love this place! The owners, Marco and Sonia, are some of the nicest people you will ever meet, and they go above and beyond to help you out! The rooms are comfortable and clean, and the food is good, too (Marco makes his own bread, and it's incredible!). The pool is clean and refreshing, and the showers are hot with excellent water pressure. I highly recommend this place!

Shanta´s restaurant is an old classic of the Vilcabamba cuisine.
Since more than 15 years he is serving the best pizza in town and the best Guinea pig in all of Ecuador. And believe me, I tried many over my years here in this country.
It is an ecuadorian family run restaurant and Shanta himself is worth a visit to get to know him if you speak spanish.
Don´t forget to try his special "Snake tequila"
Just ask in the town center or a taxi driver how to find him.
A new addition is a very good german style craft beer.

The Hofmann family are doing extraordinary things in San Pedro. They have worked very hard across numerous fronts in order to bring to fruition a micro-brewing operation which produces three different types of really flavoursome beer (dark, red, and blonde). Pairing that enviable accomplishment with some of the best BBQ you'll taste anywhere (chicken, pork or beef), has proved to be a flawless combination. Perched on a hillside with sweeping views down to the magical valley of Vilcabamba itself, they have created a unique dining experience and ambience, literally out of thin-air! Which is very lucky for me, because they also happen to be the closest restaurant to my house! If you visit Vilcabamba, you will be doing yourself a serious disservice if you don't pop in on Saturday or Sunday and sample their wares. Just a great way to pass a couple of hours with good food, good beer, and good company! Welcome to the Vilcabamba life! :)

We weren’t disappointed by our friend’s’ recommendation of this place! The food was very different but we enjoyed it immensely. I had the falafel balls with hummus and my husband had the curry chicken. Loved the yucca fries!!! Want to try the fig dessert next time.

This place was a great find just off the main square in town. Food was exceptional, everything we had was great. It is very much the local hang out for Gringo's. Living in a place where no one speaks English it was nice to be able to talk to anyone here. We had the Pizza almost every time we were there and it was amazing, would highly recommend it to anyone visiting.

They're located on the main square so I suppose they attract a lot of tourist business and they don't expect or cater to repeat customers. They charge first world prices in a third world country. The young lady, who speaks perfect English, stated the Agave Wheat craft beer was brewed for them specifically. I found the same beer at Charlito's for a dollar less and it's simply called 'Gold' there.

I love nachos, and I was surprised when I had them here. I made my wife come back here a few times as the nachos were real hand made nachos. I always ordered some guacamole and nachos before every meal and it was amazing. The food does take a little time as it is made from scratch, but it is well worth the wait. I found it to be very fairly priced for what you got. I had a burrito and Fajitas, and both had not only a lot of meat but vegetables in them as well.
