Seafood restaurant and bar on the beach
Beautiful beach bar right on the beach. Good views of kite surfers. Quite expensive compared to other places

We liked it there because they don't have white table cloth as many of the other hotel-restaurants in V.
A few things we ordered were out of stock, but we blamed it to low season.
Service was friendly and attentive, seafood was good but slightly overcooked, which is mocambique style, as we learned.

We would probably give this restaurant a 3.5 out of 5. It was an interesting evening as when we arrived we thought it was closed but after making enquiries a local chap shouted the owners. We think it was because they were not expecting any customers, you will need to remember we were travelling in the low season and this place is not in the centre. After they clearly realised we had come to eat lights were put on and a lot of running around to help us with a drink and food and were very keen to impress. Bizarrely enough not long after we arrived a group from our hotel arrived and what had started as a cosy evening for two became quite lively. The location is great as it over looks the beach and we think the best time to visit would be lunch time or early evening before it gets dark to enjoy the view. It is a very clean and appears to be very well looked after. The menu, like most, is quite small but we had chicken and fish which was above average compared to other places we eat in Mozambique. We would recommend if just for a drink to enjoy the view and a change from more central places.

If you are not lucky enough to be staying here, visit Casa Rex restaurant during your Vilanculos stay for a charming old world dining experience. We enjoyed a leisurely, bountiful breakfast served efficiently in this charming colonial setting, amongst gentle breezes lifting off the bay. Enjoyed the experience so much, we returned for Sunday afternoon tea!

This was the most expensive restaurant we visited in Vilankulos and whilst it was a pleasantly landscaped setting by the pool, I did not enjoy the food much. There are a number of European dishes on the menu. Not sure if we were simply unlucky with our food choices. We ordered the Greek salad - this did not have any lettuce and few olives. The chocolate crepe had very little chocolate inside. The cheese on the pizza was not of good quality.

This beach hangout has an ok atmosphere and a beautifull view. We ordered lobster and t-bone; prices are ok-ish. We were happy with the lobster. The t-bone however was small, smothered in a thick sauce and raw. I asked to cook it some more which they did. But the the meat turned out to be very tough, almost inedible, and the sauce bland. I also found the t-bone far too small; most of it was bone under the sauce. When the waiter asked about the food I told him that I found the lobster good and the t-bone terrible, and he would inform the chef. Nothing happened, after all, as long as they pay who cares. So we did just that and left.

If you want to feel in the place, going to Leopoldina's is a must. The gentleman is very friendly, food arrived on time and guess what, our daughter was even given an African bed to sleep on.

Fast food Take away Local food Sea food Local beer and cocktails
I really enjoyed this place. Great place for a few afternoon beers - cheap and tasty food.
It is a real locals place - come here at night and enjoy the atmosphere. Follow the crowd when the place closes (11pm) and you'll find where the party is at.
