Vietri sul Mare ("Vietri on the Sea") is a town and comune in the province of Salerno, in the Campania region of southern Italy. It is situated just west of Salerno, separated from the Port of Salerno by only a harbour wall. The town is known for its polychrome ceramics, a tradition since at least the 15th century, and is considered to be the gateway to the Amalfi Coast.

The paccheri pasta with tomato (can't R.E.M. What else was in the sauce as I am reviewing this 4 days after I've eaten here) was great, but the fishermans pasta with beans and seafood was not so good as the beans made the sauce murky. The mussels in there were very good though.
Overall would recommend. This is reasonably priced.

The light lunch we had was served quickly and was delicious. We were told about the typically local dishes and ingredients in this tiny hidden gem of a restaurant.

Had the choice of restaurant rather thrust on us by the hotel failing to admit to their restaurant being shut. "Just 200m down the road" was, just 400m but we arrived as the restaurant opened. Mixed seafood starter was generally good, steak with rocket and Parmesan was badly let down by poor meat.
A reasonable wine list.
Service is patchy, partly through an emphasis on the unnecessary - filleting fish at the table led to it being served cold, bog standard wine with no sediment was decanted.
Nice location on the seafront.

Here you must embrace the Italian way of life and enjoy real Italian food and people. The staff here are all so friendly. The food is the best you can ever wish wish to eat -Italian style. The family who own the restaurant are just simply divine, wonderful people who are happy to accept you into their World.
We had a great Sunday afternoon lunch which consisted of five or six courses with wine. The cost was just €30 per person - you cannot purchase this food in England. It was truly fantastic memorable meal.

The Restaurant Evù is in the center of Vietri sul mare,a small country famous for "ceramiche italiane".Evù is a nice and romantic restaurant...and the food is special for mediterrean menù...
Very friendly, helpful, attentive waiting staff. Amazing seafood and cheese. The pistachio ricotta was one of the best desserts we had ever had. Reasonably priced but good quality local wine. Would definitely return.

Lovely location just off one of the many narrow streets of Vietra. Friendly staff, good service and beautiful, authentic food. Lots of choice of pasta, seafood, salads and antipasti. Lovely towards our 8 year old and adapted the menu to ensure he had a pasta dish he enjoyed. House wine was delicious. Great value, friendly staff and lovely food. Recommend for off the beaten track, good food , friendly atmosphere and lovely limoncello to finish.

The food is exceptionally cheap for the Amalfi coast and Anna served us both times we visited with a smile.

Other reviews accurately describe this lovely restaurant which is the front of house of a working farm set on incredibly steep and heavily terraced hillside overlooking the sea.
We were staying at nearby Hotel Raito and were offered a shuttle service (recommended and arranged by reception) to and fro which we gladly accepted - not sure if this applies elsewhere - but it was a white knuckle ride down to the restaurant on incredibly narrow and steep lanes all driven at pace.
But the end result was excellent. Don't go expecting haute cuisine. What you will get is authentic Italian rural cooking served in a farmyard setting where animals - noise and smell - actually adds to the charm.
The restaurant was packed out with local Italians but as the token Brits we were made no less welcome and still managed a form of conversation and good laughs.
On the night we were there two musicians were present and it was great to see the Italians joining in wholeheartedly with (presumably) well known folk songs. We were encouraged to join in through clapping to the beat.
You need to go hungry as food was plentiful. We had excellent mixed starters followed by pasta and then main courses of mainly pork and sausage dishes. Locally produced wine was served by the jug and hit the spot as did delicious home cooked bread.
We were too full for desert which was either fruit or cake - tiramisu by the look of it.
Our bill for 3 came to just under €100 - fantastic value for over 3 hours entertainment and excellent food and wine. Most importantly this was not one of those manufactured tourist evenings but was simply a great evening spent with local families hell bent on enjoying themselves - and keen to share their enjoyment with us.
Not to be missed if staying in the area and a massive improvement on the endless pizzerias and bars in the main town.
