We visited Frank and Connies on Saturday after the grand final. The place was buzzing and had a great atmosphere. We had the $75 feed me menu and some local wine. The food was out of this world, a real range of different cuisines, from seafood and chorizo starter to slow roasted lamb and Thai barramundi mains and passion fruit sorbet for dessert. It was so hard to pick a favourite dish! The service was excellent, Staff were very attentive and happy to answer questions. We will definitely be returning on our next visit.

We are a neighbourhood French Bistro. Your place to savour beautiful French food, together with a carefully selected drinks range. The quick rendezvous. An extended liaison. A private indulgence.
Matthew knows his French Cuisine, having been awarded a cooking competition prize of working in a Michelin hatted restaurant in France. We did the whole expected menu and everything was just perfect. His famous gougeres puffy and cheesy, scallops seared to bring out their flavor, the best beef tartare Iâve had, with a French Pinot that our helpful waiter pointed to. Naturally I chose next le rosbif avec les pommes frites ie steak rare (wagyu, local and best Iâve had) with string chips done correctly crisp which one doesnât always get. An interesting chocolate mousse dessert, press coffee and a glass of recommended aperitif â happy faces at the end of a âjust as perfect as we had hopedâ dining experience. Weâre going back tomorrow for lunch. There may even be a French accordion player. Maybe.

Very special indeed. When visiting a venue of this style there is always a nervous element. It can be a lot of pressure ordering the right meal, wine, what ifâs and buts. All of our food and wine was spot on. Service was so good in a way that although polished and of the highest standard we never ever felt âover servicedâ. Food was so good that even we would all taste something in a dish that was truly fantastic and ask âwhatâs thatâ? A wonderful evening thanks to the Lakehouse crew

The chef has spent a lot of time getting the balance right. Only 6 mins from town. Such a beautiful setting to match the amazing dishes.
