We have now visited Singh's Bala Da Dhaba restaurant on three or four occasions on recent visits to Melbourne. On each occasion we have ordered one of the set menus which provide several delicious starters followed by a number of curries, served with a selection of nan bread and excellent rice. The food is extremely well priced and represents excellent value. The restaurant is BYO as well as licensed, which makes for a very reasonable night out. Service is friendly and efficient. Make sure you are hungry if you are going to order the set menu - there is a lot of food and we are big eaters. Delicious and satisfying!

Have now made this place our new local take away for Indian and Nepalese food. Tried the butter chicken, eggplant masala and pharsi (pumpkin) masala vegetarian dishes tonight. Received complimentary papadums. Excellent food and service. Best Indian and Nepalese food we have ever eaten!

One of my measures of food quality, especially Indian food, is how tough the meat is and whether sinews and fat are present - I found none at Avatar. Chicken was probably the most tender I have had - perfect. This place is a neighbourhood gem and judging by the noise level, it seems to have been discovered, so advance booking is advisable. Staff are friendly and the manager very polite and attentive.We are so grateful for your kind words. Thanks for sharing your amazing review.
