My cousins had talked about the Lynbrook Hotel for a few years now as a place they liked to go, so when I joined them, I was glad.It was shortly after 12 and the line was relatively long. Some courtesy bus groups had come in.I had not eaten at a buffet since my youth. It was good that the forks and knives were in central places, as well as the water. From table 10 you can take the ramp or the stairs as it is a heightened place.Has some reasonable views of the South Gippsland freeway. The food of different cultures and food groups are well grouped. I'll start with the seafood where I took two mussels and a crab and shrimp salad which was well-creamed, as well as tabouleh, which was well-parslied and tomatoed. That was my first plate. The second plate was an Asian-inspired mix of vegetables; pork-ish meatballs and rice which I added at the last minute. It's good to be able to get a rainbow of vegetables for your serving.Other people at table 10 ate roasts of pork and other things. The third plate was chocolate mousse and a green lychee with a taste of raspberry.I liked the lychee better than I liked the chocolate mousse - the mousse was bitter and probably tart. The lychee tasted something like marzipan or meringue.Lynbrook Hotel's hospitality is extensive and non-fussy. Thank you Shelby and the other person on the floor. As it was the last day of Term I suspected that students were there. And I did eventually finagle a dessert spoon and I might have done something with a fork. The dessert section is well set up and very friendly. It does depend on what you see first and whether your eyes are bigger than your stomach - you can get a moderately large meal if that's "all you care to eat".A really nice Friday afternoon experience - the sessions are roughly an hour and a half so ours ended at 1335.Looking forward to Christmas in July [2 to 7 July 2018] and the Superhero cosplay on the 12th July 2018 - so if you want to explore the Lynbrook Hotel this way, it would be a good idea. I wonder what costumes go with what buffet choices!

This place is the restaurent within the golf clubhouse ,if you plan on going make sure you dont book on competition days as they just shove you into a little side area and use the restaurent for golf presentation and meals.Didnt have entree but had fishermans basket as main meal...the fish (rockling) was tasteless and needed seasoning of some sort, calamari was overcooked and tough.Dessert i had the tasting plate which consisted of 3 desserts, one being a flourless chocolate cake...was thinking it was a spelling mistake on the menu and should have been flavourless chocolate cake...had 2 beers(not from the tap),both were warm and returned to bar to get cold beer from tap.
