The Plough Inn dates back to 1864, it is claimed Ned Kelly had ridden his horse down the main hall of the pub, while that may just be a tale, Ned did work in Tarrawingee and it is said that he and his gang would have a drink or two and would sit on a knot
Only a short drive out of Wangaratta you will find this terrific country pub. Staff made us very welcome. Menu was a good choice of mains or daily specials. Wines were a good variety. Everyone on our table were very happy with their choice . Meals were served nice and hot. Overall a very pleasant experience made better with pleasant staff.

Stopped in Milawa on the way to Bright for a quick bite to eat. Hamburger with the lot was huge and as good as you can get. So good, we stopped on our return. I wish you could get burgers this good everywhere instead of what is served up by the big hamburger chains. Thanks for your feedback!

Stopped here for lunch on our way from Sydney to the Yarra Valley and what a great lunch it was. Service was excellent and the food was sensational, we had the pork belly, porterhouse steak and the slow roasted scotch fillet steak. Each of our meals was delicious and exceeded our expectations. A must visit when in the King Valley !!

We enjoyed a lovely lunch on Monday. We sat outside in a quiet setting. The owners are so friendly, good charachters and provide healthy food at a very good price. There is a specials board along with their regular menu. The beetroot salad was a very good size and so tasty. I would also recommend the tasting plate. Others ate the fettucini, pork cheek, pizza and flourless chocolate cake which was a very big serve and delicious. Also try the home made Wagon Wheels and the home made pear and chilli cutney and eggplant chutney are a must to buy and take home. Will definately be back.

We had just come off a 40km bike ride on the Murray to Mountains rail trail, and we were hungry. We were not sure about heading out of town, but Milawa Kitchen was worth it. Outstanding venue with autumn leaves dripping from the roof and framing the outside deck area. Some of us went off for cheese and wine tasting, others dived into lunch.I chose a Cruffin stuffed with Lemon Curd - I got the last one and was it good! A bit like a cross between a croissant and a brioche. The three cheese souffle was ordered by five of us and was proclaimed marvellous. What not to like!

Named in honour of the grapes from the vineyard it overlooks, Restaurant Merlot is a natural meeting place where many a tale is told â some as tall as the distant alpine peaks themselves. It is a place where our passion for genuine, warm hospitality comes
Had a lovely meal here last night. Couldn't fault the quality of the food, presentation, atmosphere and service. The only complaint is that for $21.00, my wife's quail entree was the scungiest portion we have ever had, only half a tiny quail. If it was a fush it would have been thrown back in the water. Having stated that, we can fully recommend but unless you've had your stomach stapled, steer clear of the quail.Just another comment, we noticed a special offer in the free tourist book of $70.00 pp for 3 courses and a bottle of wine. It would have been great if this offer was also mentioned in the menu for diners who weren't aware.Thank you for taking the time to review. We look forward to welcoming you back.

Two of us had a lovely light lunch today at the Epicurean Centre at Milaea, seated in the sunshine with a glass of wine and a share charcuterie platter. Friendly staff, reasonably priced, parking close by and amenities available all set in beautiful gardens.

For our first time here, we were not overly impressed. The staff were friendly and helpful on arrival. After our order had been taken, our entree came out, before they had cleared our bread plates. Those of us who did not order the matching wines, were never offered another drink. Our mains came out, and again, no offer of another drink. Yes, we could have asked, but I feel, in a place like this where you are paying top dollar for the food, the service should have been better. Our mains plates sat on the table for a good 20mims after we had finished. Once they had been cleared, it took another 20mins for us to be offered a dessert menu. The food was good, but unfortunately it was ruined by the lack of service. We will not return.Hi WenmanN90, Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We are disappointed that your experience did not meet your expectations. We will certainly take your feedback on board and raise it at our fortnightly meeting and training.Hopefully you will give us an opportunity to welcome you back again sometime.
