Had a delicious lunch here with friends which included 3 hungry teenagers. We had Rabbit and Vegetable Pie which had a nice flavour to it and veggies were soft and pastry just right, chicken parmagiana which was huge and you could tell they crumbed it themselves, salmon patties which were tasty and had fresh salmon flakes in it, Waygu Beef Burger which was divine and lastly ham, tomato and Brie quiche which got the thumbs up too. Only thing which let down a higher score was we werenât told there would possibly be bones in the Rabbit Pie and the chips were oily. Service was ok! All in all we would definately go back

Totally unassuming, this cafes exterior hides the heart infused, nourishing offerings to be found within. Yes, it's sort of like old school US diner vibe meets small town simple cafe - in looks - but it is very clean, genuine and totally yummo big time. The people that manage this cafe are friendly, welcoming and real. You can feel the LOVE they put into the simple, honest menu. The menu is packed with flavoursome and world class healthy fare for sure.Did someone already say "hidden gem". It is for sure!

We visited on a Saturday for lunch and enjoyed the outdoor dining area and the rear of the Hotel. The food was of a great standard, brought out quickly and I loved the identification boxes they use rather than plain numbers on a stand. Large range on the drinks menu did not dissappoint those in our group. Great to also be able to see where the smoke pit for the food.

In all honesty I thought the dishes were small and overpriced. Ive been here a few times with friends and I've always had to fill up at the bakery afterwards. The service was friendly and the quality of the food was OK. Although while eating it I thought that it was basic food that could equally be cooked at home. It didn't feel like I was dining out at all. The presentation of the food was quite good - but again - PRICEWISE - too expensive and the size of the actual food on the plate was small. A main felt like entre size and an entre felt like tapas. I'm sorry and I know you might disagree - but we are paying money and we expect just that little bit more. Yes, times are tight.... but so are times tight for customers so why pay more? That's where I, as a customer, draw the line. I would have given this the thumbs up but I can't. Either reduce the prices or increase the food.Hi Tony, Thank you for your feedback regarding your recent visit. We understand that our customers are very price conscious and with this in mind we find that our prices are well in line with other cafes in the area.As I canât comment on what you had as it was never mentioned, we ourselves know through our daily interaction with our guest that our meals are quite substantial and price worthy. It is worth mentioning that our menu displays items for breakfast and lunches so therefore itâs a little confusing as to see where you may have seen the entree displayed! Perhaps the next time your in with us and find that the dishes are inadequate it might be worth mentioning it to us at the counter so that we can best look after you in person. Best regards Cherry tree cafe!

We dropped in for lunch halfway through our Yarra Valley Winery tour. The restaurant recommended by our tour guide was absolutely chockers, so remembered the reviews that weâd read on this one and decided to try it. Very pleased we did. They were busy (Healesville was slammed) but we managed to get an outside table. Our lunch was delightful, the service rapid and friendly. Unfortunately (or perhaps fortunately as we had several wineries still to visit) we were unable to enjoy a glass with our meal. There was a line painted on the pavement, and apparently past that line you couldnât have alcohol (council rule). Seemed weird, if you sat any closer to the restaurant you would have been in the way of passers by. Staff offered to find us a table inside, but we were enjoying the sunshine and the buzz so had coffee instead - very good. Have no hesitation in recommending this place.

We popped into this great burger place on a visit to the Yarra Valley and were pleasantly surprised. As good as many of the burger places in Melbourne, the menu is very interesting and the quality of the burgers is great! We had the Dirty South and the Diablo burger and both were excellent. Unfortunately, the fries were a little soggy, but not terrible.

We had an absolute ball at Tarrawarra. The property is absolutely beautiful. We started off with a wine tasting, their wines are beautiful. We then went into the restaurant and were welcomed by their friendly staff. All the food was incredible and matched perfectly with their wines. Itâs a quite, small and professional space. Itâs small enough to keep the beautiful atmosphere, which most wineries in the Yarra Valley lack. Perfect for anything from business meetings to a romantic date.

Family owned and run. Everything home made and healthy. Allergy and vegan friendly. Great for kids. Local beer and cider. Seasonal menu with local, ethically sourced produce.
Was good food asked for a chai latte and they gave me a chai tea and acted like it was the right thing even though I asked when they brought it over as well, made and feel uncomfortable to have to ask to change it. Also no option of almond milk is disappointing. Overall the food was ok

Herd Bar & Grill incorporates an urban meets rural interior offering something unique and completely new to the Yarra Valley. This subterranean bunker wouldnât be out of place in the city and has been likened to any groovy bar in New York City. Chef Trevo
Had a Sunday evening booking for 14 made 2 weeks in advance. When we arrived cafe was almost empty. When given our menus we were advised that 3 of the seven mains were unavailable which quickly became 4 unavailable as we placed our orders. Our meals arrived in dribs and drabs with our last vegetable plate being served just as everyone had completed their meals. Most meals were OK to good unfortunately side dishes appeared to be over cooked or reheated. Our table attendant was pleasant but counter staff were indifferent to our discussions on what we had found. Understanding that there was 14 in our party and we had a confirmed booking 2 weeks in advance, in my experience Herd did not meet the reviews here and elswhere and I would be hesitant in a positive recommendation. Thanks rickh4257 for taking the time to share of your recent experience,I tend to agree with you... running out of food is one of my pet hates, however, it is a fine line getting it right especially on the eve before closing for rest days....In response to your comments. Our restaurant that evening although quiet upon arrival, as you would of noticed soon filled up. We regret and it is with sincere apologies that those main course items were not available that evening. Our chef is very consistent with ordering, and it did take us by surprise the amount of unannounced walk ins during what was such a wintry Friday and Saturday. We certainly didn't want to purchase an inferior product to try and replace the great protein we receive from our regular trusted suppliers ( who unfortunately don't deliver on a Sunday). We assure you all our food is cooked 'a la carte' and just as the Negroni cocktail did take a little longer to arrive at your table so did some of your food, as can be the case sometimes with large group bookings and a busy restaurant. This is why for groups of 10 or more we ask that you go onto a set menu, as we made an exception for your group of 14 to order a la carte, we would have thought some patience and understanding during service would come our way, our chef, barman and waitress only have one set of hands each! Your overall experience is rare and does not echo what we are about as mentioned by all the favorable reviews here and elsewhere. We hope you take faith in visiting us again, if so, perhaps a smaller group and I'm sure your experience will be completely different. Kind regards, the team at Herd Bar

Searching on my computer, found a Winery Experience for four people being advertised by Scoopon.Called Gourmet Yarra Valley Winery Experience for four people valued at $130, being offered for $65 in total for all four including a generous glass of wine each of your own choosing.Venue being Wild Cattle Creek Estate at Seville in the Yarra Valley. On arrival, we were offered various wines to taste and to choose which one you would like during your meal. For $65, you can choose either the cheese, antipasto or desert board.Being four people, you are entitled to one of the large boards, but the winery was kind enough to let us have two of the small boards. We chose the cheese and antipasto boards.Wonderful boards with plenty of choices on each. There is also a two person deal on offer for $33.Ren (Rhiannon) was a charming and knowledgeable hostess during our visit.Highly recommend visiting this lovely winery.
