Wait staff are friendly and attentive; coffee is acceptable; breakfast menu is extensive. My dukkah eggs on gluten free toast was a large serving, eggs were perfectly poached but the tomato chutney conflicted with the warm roasted pumpkin in my opinion. Atmosphere is lovely fireside. Wish there was a rating for Good. I eat here every visit to Ballarat.Thankyou for choosing to visit our beautiful cafe & sending through your review, we look forward to hosting you next time your in townCheers Carmel Turret Cafe and Catering

The Red Lion Hotel is Ballarat's premier entertainment facility with something for everyone. Whether you're after a delicious meal in the relaxing atmosphere of Leo's Restaurant, a spot to catch all the sports and racing action in Simba's TAB, a coffee an
We unfortunately choose to celebrate our 10 year anniversary here. Both ordered a steak well done, neither were close to Well done. Had to send mine back as it more close to rare! Didnât even get to enjoy our meal together!! Staff were extremely friendly. Meal was good once done right. Very expensive food & drinks. Very disappointed. Hello Yvetteiacobucci Sorry to hear about your experience on your recent visit to the Red Lion. We work hard to serve great food with warm hospitality and it doesn't seem that you got the full Red Lion experience. If you would be kind enough to email [email protected] and speak with Rhys our manager regarding this we would like to offer you a voucher to return and enjoy your anniversary together. Kind Regards

Dine in air conditioned comfort on a sunny afternoon or under the stars in the evening. Serving Breakfast, lunch and dinner in a spacious light filled glass roofed conservatory in the historic courtyard of Craigâs Royal Hotel. The perfect place for inform
Staff are attentive, the atmosphere is refined but not pretentious. My gluten free blue eye with roe and baby baked fennel was divinely delicious. My colleague enjoyed her fabulous looking risotto. We appreciated the modest serving sizes. Our wines were very agreeable. We resisted dessert and the excellent dessert wine list. We warmly recommend.

Our grandfather Frank was a well-known Blacksmith in the Ballarat region, and at the heart of a Blacksmith's shop is a fire they call the Forge. With a combination of the fire, great skill and plenty of hard work, great things are created. Take a look at
Great pizza but expensive! We stumbled across this place when visiting Ballarat & looking for a place to eat. It has a lovely atmosphere & seemed to be a popular spot for locals. We loved our pizza but were surprised at the cost. We can't afford to eat here regularly but would go back as a special treat.

Ballarat Yacht Club is the perfect place to enjoy delicious food, coffee or cheese and wine while enjoying the best Lake Wendouree views. Relax on the deck or inside our recently refurbished restaurant, and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere and great views.
Mid way through a long drive, we stopped here for lunch on a Sunday. We were looking forward to a quiet lunch with a lake view but alas this was not to be on this occasion. The wind was blowing a gale so outside on the deck was not an option. Inside the restaurant two large group celebrations were in progress and there were many other diners as well. Our lovely meal of fish and chips was most enjoyable but we were pleased to leave a venue where the noise level was becoming quite wearing. This was partly due to the jam packed nature of the seating in the restaurant, and also the high noise level arising from a combination of chatter, speeches, clapping and general movement around the tables. Will try again.

As a former cafe and barista school owner, I really appreciate going to funky little cafes that provide great coffee, food and atmosphere. It is really difficult to get all of these right, not many cafes do. Unfortunately this cafe ticked two of the boxes. On a cold wet day, L'Espresso was certainly warm and inviting the moment I stepped in with lots of amazing wooden features throughout and a clever sideline of displaying and selling vinyl records and cd's. I enjoyed a lovely breakfast of parmesan scrambled eggs on brioche with smoked bacon. The only disappointment was the long black made with Vittoria coffee. It does amaze me that these days with all the amazing local small batch roasters of specialty beans, that cafes are still using the darkly overroasted beans from the big commercial coffee companies. If this cafe was to highlight a locally roasted bean and then made well, they would definitely be the triple threat.

The best breakfast place in Ballarat
I had to come because of the name , which means 'delicious' in Dutch.... because I am Dutch .... Thats where the Dutchiness of the cafe ends , because there was nothing Dutch on the menu at all . But that did not matter to me at all , because what we got was a really friendly and helpful welcome and a really substantial and good breakfast .The toilet was nice and clean too.

A modern wine bar and urban cellar door with a focus on the Mitchell Harris Wines range, and wine selections from Western Victoria and further afield. Classic bar food along with sumptuous feature dishes. A relaxed contemporary vibe, in a classic old Ball
This was one of the best wine bars I have been to. Great decor in an historic building. Cellar door for Mitchell Harris wines. Also a wi n e bar and bottle shop for a range of other wineries. Good selections by the glass. The $10 wine flight was excellent. Recommended
