Gourmet Number One is a Chinese Cuisine Restaurant located in 129 Main Street, Pakenham. Serving Cantonese Style Chinese Cuisin for over 10 years. Recently, been renovated on the interior and adopted online order as well as Home Delivery.
I went here for valentines day with my partner. We had a fried and steamed dim sim each to start followed with a soup each. The steamed dim sim and both soups were cold and not that good. We had a small BBQ pork which was nice. For mains we had hot and spicy deep fried calamari and sizzling chicken with honey pepper sauce, and a special fried rice. The calamari was totally tasteless and chewy. No seasoning at all. The sizzling chicken was ok and rice was very bland. Did not bother with desert. They had a woman that was a deliver driver who would ask how dinner was going, take empty dishes etc. It was very unprofessional and not a good look. She was erratic at the tables and the register. Most tables were empty and only had 4 or 5 couples eat there for valentines day lol And not one of them was Asian, which is never a good sign. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone, nor will I ever go back there!Hi Roberto,We are very sorry for your experience at our restaurant. I know that you may never want to revisit our restaurant again, but I do hope you will reconsider. I hope that you will accept our sincerest apology. We have taken every action possible to ensure that the same mistakes won't happened again. We are now under new management, dim sim recipe is now totally different, as well as improved cooking style on the calamari.Hope to see you in the future :D-WW

Never disappointed with Emperors Delight, have had several meals dining in recently and have enjoyed great meals and good service.
On arrival shown to our table, getting the Menus was a little slow. Drinks and food ordered. The food was flavoursome, but the started a little cold especially the Samoosa.Good range of dishes, staff friendly. Price very reasonable. Restaurant is large and felt it to be rather cool as it was very cold outside. Restrooms needed to be cleaner.
I recently went to Ceylon Tea House, my husband and i, we went to the hoppers night that occurs every friday, and it was 10/10 i hundred percent recommend to any families to go there. There food is flavorsome and i enjoyed the lovely atmosphere, they have a unique grocery display especially their tea section that has multiple varieties of traditional tea.

We were greeted with a big smile by Jason the owner and he made a point about being authentic asian, with no lemon chicken or similar offerings available. The suckling pig was pushed as the most popular, so we agreed to having the platter for two. We also ordered some green tea. Everywhere we have travelled in Asia, tea comes out in a pot with small cups, but here we got two large cups each with a tea bag. Maybe something they can work on. Out comes the platter. I looked for the tasty crackling, but could only see this plastic looking stuff. Not the lovely pork crackling that you would expect. It had no taste at all. The meat was also tasteless and dry. It also had a bit of a smell. That is why a female pig is always better tasting and smelling than a male pig. The platter was served with steamed rice, a small bit of salad and three very small dipping sauces, that ran out after dipping two of the skewers in them. There was also some soup that wasnt bad. We had some entrees of vegetable spring rolls and chicken wings, and these were ok, and pretty hard to muck up. Looks like we have to travel back to Indo for real authentic back street food.

We decided to give this a try as we were in the area, how wonderful this food was. The restaurant is cosy and warm, the staff are lovely and accommodating in every way. Well worth a try.

My fiancé and I ordered take out here and were pleasantly surprised. The food was very well priced and the spice palate of the cuisine (mussamun chicken) was intricate and delicious. I would have liked to see a larger variety of vegetables in the dish to make it healthier (for an example, Iâve been to other authentic Thai restaurants where carrots and other veggies feature in the dish) however the food was lovely overall.
