Andy and his staff have great Italian food at reasonable prices. My favorite Pizza is the meat lovers pie. My assistant orders pizza every Friday night and is totally hooked on his excellent pizza. Check it out when your in town.

Peasant is a first-class small restaurant near the covered bridge in Waitsfield. The food is incredible--a very high standard is achieved here through careful preparation of the best local ingredients.The chef, Chris Alberti, delivers the entrees to your table and clearly cares a great deal about pleasing his guests.The radicchio and white anchovy salad with lemon dressing was excellent and the risotto with red pepper pesto and scallops was prefect--the scallops were super fresh and delicately cooked with the rice, remaining tender and flavorful.We are from the Boston area and have never had such a great scallop dish so perfectly cooked.The chocolate fondant cake with whipped cream was moist and the icing was delicious--a perfect end to a super meal.Worth a major detour for a dinner in a quiet, relaxed and beautiful setting.Need to reserve well in advance or stop by early and eat at the bar in the back room when they open at 5:30.We will be back!

We went without high hopes but were very happy to have chosen this place for a casual supper. It was rammed on a Sunday evening but we were found a table after 30 minutes. Charming staff...teally quite good "proper" Italian food.
