The service was very good. Prompt attention upon arrival and almost immediate response by server once we were seated.Friendly staff, too. Very nice menu selections. Broad local VT craft beers choices. Our food was prepared very well. Baked New England style haddock for me, with fresh green beans and mashed potatoes. The haddock was prepared very nicely in a wine sauce. If there is a negative it is the speed of the service. Our food came out very quickly after our drinks were delivered. I had taken a couple of sips for example. I prefer not to drink beer with the meal, but before as a relaxation method. Because of the fast delivery time, the restaurant lost out on a two drink order form us.

Enjoyed a wonderful meal with a good friend during the NFL Divisional Playoff games. Our aim was to eat, but forgot the Patriots were playing the Chargers. The place was packed with juiced up fans! Despite the focus, we had a wonderful meal served by a friendly and efficient waitress. This is the third of four McGillicuddy's pubs we've sampled. It's becoming one of our go-to places to enjoy food and ale. Go here, because you will not be disappointed.

Sadly, this was about the worst Reuben sandwich I have ever had. The bread was not quite right, the corned beef was not quite right. The sauerkraut seemed to be missing. The accompanying fries were okay and plentiful, but combined with what appeared to be a generally filthy looking restaurant, I will not be back.

Enjoyed lunch with a good friend to celebrate my wife's birthday. Our first time here, and can't wait to return. There are so many good choices on the menu, we will need to come back frequently to enjoy them all. What we heard about atmosphere and noise level is true, but we're finding more and more that this seems to satisfy the trend in dining out. Those of us in our 70's, however, reflect on times in the past where dining out was in comfortable, relaxed settings with NO NOISE!! Guess if you can't lick 'em, you join 'em. Sampled the fish tacos (outstanding), the Cuban (OK, but better in Tampa), and the maple chicken (Yummy). Sweet potato fries are some of the best we have had, and the fried plantains that accompanied the Cuban should have been grilled instead of deep-fried. Small nit-picks, but overall very good.

Guild Tavern is a farm-to-table wood fired grill featuring local beef grilled over Vermont hardwood. The menu offers classic steakhouse entrees, wood fired mixed grills, seafood and vegetarian options, and an innovative cocktail program. More casual fare,
Revisited this steakhouse after many many years ago, which, back then, didn't quite meet up to our expectation. Verdict, not much changed since then. Aside from the main course, the Caesar salad was decent. Topped with anchovies (optional) and a healthy amount of shaved parmigiana cheese, this was very decent. My wife had the salmon, which was a tad overcooked (too long under the hot lamp?) and my 14oz ribeye steak... though nicely flavored, was very "sinewy", making it somewhat an overly chewy meal.Overall, a mediocre experience.

Pub food and weekly entertainment. Although in the same building On Tap is not connected to El Gato. Plentiful seating throughout the venue. We prefer to away from the parking lot entrance especially in the winter. Large bar with TVs and access for those that want to eat a quicker meal. Wait staff are terrific and prices are very reasonable. Great place to watch a ball game or gather with friends or family.

Stopped by for lunch with friends and spent two hours catching up. The restaurant was not slammed and since the space wasnât needed we just enjoyed ourselves. The staff was great as was the food. I had the Reuben sandwich with fries, everybody else had the salad bar. Our lunch was great. The facility was clean and very comfortable. The menu prices were very reasonable.

My husband and I had early dinners at the Vermont Tap House in Williston, Vermont on Wednesday, August 21st and Thursday, August 22nd, while we were staying in South Burlington. We enjoyed the steak and cheese sandwich, which was huge, the wood fire pizza, and the Green Mountain Salad, which was very fresh with Vermont grown ingredients. Everything was nicely prepared with generous servings. The selection of beers was also very good. . , The service was also quite good and the seating was comfortable in nice booths. In addition, there was free parking convenient to the restaurant. We found this restaurant a good alternative to dining in Burlington, where you have to pay to park and there may be heavier traffic. We recommend this restaurant for a variety of different entrees and would go back again.
