We had a birthday celebration there with 5 adults and 2 children. The soup and salad bar offers a decent selection including peel and ear shrimp and cocktail sauce. We didnât chose any of the appetizers but they had several of my favorites. The childrenâs options were limited and when they arrived were reminiscent of school cafeteria meals. The rest of the entrees were excellent. The steak was cooked to perfection and the seafood casseroles were piping hot buttery and delicious. The lobster ravioli melted in your mouth. Too full for dessert but the choices were very tempting. Definitely worth the trip from Manchester.

If you ever wander to Hydeville, VT., a blink-and-you'll-miss-it town, stop at Big Bob's and you'll have a wonderful meal, served by a friendly waitress, in a comfortable setting. The seafood is tasty, as is everything else. We went twice with relatives, including 3 picky children, and all were ecstatic. BYOB.

Not gourmet food, but always good, reliable breakfast, lunch, or dinner that hits the spot when you are hungry. Pass by sometimes traveling from NY to VT and it's very convenient for us that most nights they're open until 9:00 and you can get breakfast items.Must save room for a piece of their scrumptious homemade pie selection.

We enjoyed a nice breakfast overlooking the sugar shack. The staff was very pleasant. Pancakes and waffles were delicious. Sausage was a tad spicy but our crew liked it! Home fries were boring, bland and super cold. Would definitely save the money and not order again. Maple cream samples were delicious as was the free coffee in the sugar shack. Maple cotton candy was fantastic. Be sure to get there early or you will be waiting.

I visited Sissy's for the first time during Thanksgiving weekend. I have been a fortunate recipient of Sissy's jams and Pickled beans but this was my first time at the actual store. The displays, product (from sweets to lunch and frozen meals to take home) and service were impeccable!I brought lunch for five people. Everyone from ages twelve to sixty something raved about the flavour and quality not to mention quantity!I just sent my beautiful daughter in law a gift certificate for her birthday. I live in Canada and left this a tad long not remembering that Sissy's does not take credit cards. Sissy was amazing, she told me to mail her a cheque and she'd send the gift certificate to my daughter in law. I know the money has not had time to get therem yet my daughter in law enjoyed her birthday lunch never the less. Bravo Sissy for the service beyond compare!

visited this morning on advice of a friend WOW!!!!! Marissa and Lindsey took great care of us. Beautiful atmosphere, fresh coffees and homemade pastries. Generous portions and excellent prices. The interior is exceptional and a local potter made all of the coffee cups. Restaurant supports local farms from Washington County and Vermont. Ate half of my omelette homefries and toast. Took the rest home. Highly recommend and can,t wait to return. Serve lunch as well, all-day breakfast on Sunday.

Ottos is more of a little corner store with a killer kitchen for take out. Its open year round, but is busy during the summer season. Try the Christopher chicken sandwich! Soups are all homemade during the colder weather. If you like Starbucks style coffee, you will like Ottos. Its a stiff cup of coffee. People are pleasant that work there and the the front porch is nice to hang out in during the warmer weather.Mini golf for fun too.

The Fair Haven Inn was recommended by a local Innkeeper. The "specials" menu looked interesting, and the location was convenient before we attended the local rodeo. We asked to be seated outside. The fountain and greenery surrounding us was a nice addition. We both ordered the Greek roast lamb shank with orzo, and it did not disappoint! It was very tender and delicious. We were entertained by the antics of one of the restaurant resident cats, Toby. He immediately took a liking to my husband, who is sometimes allergic to cats (don't they always know!), and jumped up on the table before our cocktails arrived. My husband kept an eye on him after that, but Toby contented himself with lying near the table. Dinner and cocktails came to $60+, very reasonable for such a memorable evening. My husband expressed interest in staying in the area again, just to eat another dinner at the Fair Haven Inn.

My wife and I had a late dinner, about 40 minutes before closing and it was fantastic in spite of it being a late time and close to closing. I had a rack of ribs that were equal to the best rib joints I have eaten at anywhere in the country. The rib meat was tender and flavorful, portions were generous, prices were rock bottom low. These were not cheap ribs, they had lots of meat and they literally were falling off the bone. They offered a good variety of vegetable sides and they were excellent. Home made veggies that were hot, well seasoned and not out of a can just heated in a microwave. My wife's pork chop was absolutely perfect, which is harder to do than most people realize. The sides were hot and everything was obviously made to order not sitting around in steam pans all day. The staff was attentive, personable and a joy to interact with. There was another group eating when we were there and as they were finishing up and leaving the group were talking about how they owned a restaurant in Philly and talking about how great this food was. They told both servers and the cook that anytime they wanted to come to Philly they had jobs waiting for them. I totally agree - simple place, a really wide menu, good food, unpretentious staff, and that makes a dining experience that is memorably. You can take your Haute Cuisine and put it in your hat, in my opinion. Give me a family run restaurant with a staff that cares and the result is unbeatable. This is a an unfortunately disappearing small town tradition; a comfort food restaurant. My compliments. I hope if you are ever in the Poultney/Lake St. Catherine region of Vermont give Perry's a try.

Busy day? Too tired to cook? Tapâs Is the best. Seat yourself on a comfortable deck chair (surrounded by flowers from a local grower) while you contemplate the menu. Farm to table food- the beet salad is one of my favorites along with a locally made veggie burger. Add a Fiddlehead draft and you have the perfect way to end a busy day.
